Two men seriously hurt on Birmingham building site
Two men have been taken to hospital after they were understood to have suffered serious injuries on a building site. West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was sent to the site in Bristol Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, at 08:30 BST. "On arrival crews found two men on the fourth floor of a building site who had been injured," a service spokesperson said. Paramedics said they had worked with colleagues from the fire service to reach the men before they were safely lowered to the ground.
"Both men sustained serious injuries and received trauma care on scene," the WMAS spokesperson added. One man, who sustained the most serious injuries, was taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further trauma treatment, while the second man was taken to Midlands Metropolitan University Midlands Police said it was also called to the scene by paramedics. "We have supported other emergency services, and are liaising with the Health & Safety Executive," the force said.
