Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara launch timeline confirmed. Maruti Suzuki's highly anticipated electric SUV , the e-Vitara, will face another delay before it hits the roads. The carmaker has confirmed that the deliveries of the eSUV will commence by the end of September. However, customers in India may have to wait a little longer to see it in large numbers, as most of this year's production is earmarked for export. Maruti Suzuki is targeting around 70,000 units of the e-Vitara in the remaining months of the fiscal year, with the majority of them headed overseas. It has a ground clearance of 180 mm and a kerb weight that goes up to 1,900 kg. The 49kWh variant uses a 144 hp front-mounted motor, while the 61kWh version bumps power to 174 hp, though both produce the same 189 Nm of torque. The top-spec version, with dual motors and all-wheel drive, offers 184 hp and 300 Nm. The larger 61kWh battery promises a range of up to 500 km on a single charge, making the e-Vitara one of the most promising long-range EVs in its segment.

The country's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, today announced that the e Vitara sales will start in the country before the end of September e Vitara is the maiden battery electric vehicle (BEV) of Maruti and will be manufactured at its Gujarat plant. The electric SUV will not only be sold in India but also exported to over 100 global markets, including Japan and European the post-Q4 results press conference, Maruti Chairman R C Bhargava said that domestic sales of the e Vitara will start before September-end.
