Business award win for Buckley commercial cleaning company
HD Professional Cleaning Services, in Buckley, cleaned up at the Prestige Awards, taking the win for Commercial Cleaning Company of the Year 2025.
The Prestige Awards celebrate small and medium-sized enterprises consisting of localised businesses.
Starting in June 2020, HD Professional Cleaning Services owner Helen Mendes, from Holywell, has seen the business grow. But it was a tough start.

Helen, now 30-years-old, was homeless with a baby and living in a shelter. In need of a job, she began a part-time cleaning position.
Eventually Helen quit the role and started up by herself. She said: "I didn't expect it to grow at all but it just took off, and has grown astronomical since.
"It doesn't matter where you come from, you can always make it work."
Within two years, the business had hit six figures, and has grown 60% in the last 12 months.

Helen added: "We've grown from word of mouth and repeat business and referrals, and it's only in the last six months that we've started to promote ourselves more. Hopefully we'll see it go to new heights."
With an office, and laundrette on Brunswick Road in Buckley, HD Professional Cleaning Services does see walk-ins from the public, as well as servicing their clients, including holiday lets that hire linen from the business too.
The company's recent award win is a proud moment for Helen and the 31 members on her growing team. Awards organisers stated great client feedback and company morals around staffing had secured with title.

She said: "I couldn't believe it, I was shocked and really humbled. It's just incredible. You just work so hard and don't look back on what you've achieved.
"As an industry it's saturated with cleaners, so to be recognised is brilliant. And it puts trust in the business for clients.
"This achievement wouldn't be possible without the incredible dedication of our amazing staff and the unwavering support of our clients.
"We're truly grateful for every one of you who's been part of this journey so far."
