19-year-old shot and killed in New Bedford on Tuesday night
A 19-year-old was shot and killed in New Bedford on Tuesday night.
At around 10 p.m. on April 29, a 911 call came in to report a shooting near Acushnet Avenue near Griffin Court in New Bedford, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office. A ShotSpotter activation from the area came in around the same time, the office said.
First responders found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head in a Hyundai Sonata, the office said.
The car, which also had 'multiple projectile strikes,' was parked on the east side of Acushnet Avenue.
The 19-year-old was brought to St. Luke's Hospital and was pronounced dead, the office said.
The investigation into the killing is ongoing and 'extremely active,' the district attorney's office said.
