Bracket style competition to rank ‘coolest' thing made in Pennsylvania
PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) — From Hershey Bars to Yuengling Lager and Crayola Crayons, Pennsylvania is full of manufacturing and ideas. That's why, this year, the 'Coolest Thing Made in PA' competition is back.
The bracket-style competition will pit made-in-PA brands against each other in match-ups determined by public voting. The 2025 competition includes 64 products and encourages voting via the Pennsylvania Chamber's X, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn pages. The bracket includes brands from across Pennsylvania industries and all regions of the Commonwealth.
Voting for the competition opens at noon Tuesday, March 19, with the bracket unveiling scheduled for Wednesday, March 12. The voting will continue each week until about mid-April when the winner will then be unveiled. The full schedule can be found below.
First Round (64): March 18 – March 21
Second Round (32): March 25 – March 28
Third round (16): April 1 – April 2
Fourth round (8): April 3- April 4
Semi-finals (4): April 8 – April 9
Championship: April 10 – April 11
Some of this year's participants include Auntie Ann's Pretzels, Gardners Peanut Butter Meltaways, Pride Mobility Scooters, Sheetz MTO, Hope's Cookies, PSU Creamery Ice Cream and Peeps. For a full list of competitors, visit the PA Chamber's website.
For the past two years, Pirmanti Brothers Sandwich has taken the win. In 2023 and 2024, the brand faced off against Mrs. T's Pierogies in the final round and took the crown as 'Coolest Thing Made in PA.'
