Quebec woman dies following two-vehicle crash on Manitoba highway: RCMP

A 68-year-old woman from Quebec has died following a two-vehicle crash near Virden, Man. Monday evening.
According to RCMP, officers were called to a crash at around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 83 and Provincial Road 257.
They arrived to find a heavily damaged SUV and a truck further down Highway 83, lying on its side.
An initial investigation by RCMP found the SUV was heading west on Provincial Road 257 and stopped at a stop sign near the highway. RCMP said the SUV crossed the highway and was hit by the truck on the rear driver's side.
There were four people inside the SUV, police said. One passenger from Quebec, a 68-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 45-year-old woman from Saskatchewan, and two other women from Quebec, aged 20 and 47, were taken to hospital and remain in stable condition.
A passenger in the truck, a 19-year-old man from Winkler, was taken to hospital with a serious injury, RCMP said. Three other people in the truck were not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
