Kangaroo runs away from owner and causes two-car crash
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A runaway Kangaroo caused two vehicles to crash and created a major roadway disturbance in an unlikely scene in the US. The kangaroo named Sheila shocked drivers in Macon County and two cars crashed around 11.50am on Tuesday, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Authorities investigated the crash involving the kangaroo and the agency's Highway Patrol Division and its owner worked on capturing it. 'The animal has now been recovered, and the roadway is back open,' wrote the agency in a Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon. Sheila was not injured in the crash that happened in the southbound lane of Interstate 85 close to the 46 mile marker. Videos shared on social media showed the kangaroo hopping along the interstate in Tuskegee. Sheila was tranquilized by its owner, Patrick Starr, police said. 'I've never seen anything like it,' Sheriff Andre Brunson said in a Facebook live video. 'We had a bear a few years ago, but never a kangaroo. You never know what you'll see in Macon County.' More Trending The interstate in both directions was closed to traffic as authorities feared the kangaroo would 'run in front of the traffic and get himself killed', Brunson said. Starr took to Facebook on Tuesday night. 'Thank you for all the texts and calls today. Thankfully everybody is okay,' wrote Starr. 'Sorry for not responding if you've called or text without a response. As you can imagine my phone was blowing up all day.'
