Varanasi emerges as new industrial hub in Purvanchal
Varanasi: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has seen a major industrial transformation, with Varanasi emerging as a key growth hub in Purvanchal. In Varanasi alone, 48 industrial projects worth Rs 1,180.95 crore are now operational, generating 3,472 jobs, said a senior govt official. A new era of development is unfolding in Purvanchal, especially in Kashi with many reputed national and international companies already started operations in the city. Vinod Verma, Assistant Commissioner of District Industry Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, said 48 projects commenced with an investment of Rs 1,180.95 crore from the Global Investors Summit , creating jobs for 3,472 people. Besides, 48 projects worth Rs 5,702.18 crore are set to launch soon, expected to provide employment to around 12,110 people. He further said companies like Saaswad Heat Transfer and Engineering Private Limited and Hilton Hotels Group's franchise, Double Tree, are now operational in Varanasi. Amazon's contracted warehouse with Madhavan LLP is also up and running. Besides, Banaras Beads is collaborating with Tata's Indian Hotels Company Limited to build the Ginger Budget Hotel, and the construction is underway. A wide range of companies from diverse sectors, including hotels, handloom and tourism, participated in groundbreaking ceremony. Some of the units are already operational, while others are expected to start soon.

"This collaboration underscores our commitment to equipping our students with exceptional experiences and development opportunities, ensuring they receive world-class training in internationally recognized facilities and are well-prepared to lead and advance Bahrain's hospitality industry," he stated. Sheikh Khalid pointed out that the partnership aligned seamlessly with the college's broader vision to cultivate exceptional graduates who are both highly skilled and innovative, and emphasised that the programme supports Bahrain's Tourism Strategy 2022-2026 and Vision 2030, which aim to position the kingdom as a global leader in tourism and hospitality education. Brode, expressed her delight at the collaboration with Vatel Bahrain, highlighting the hotel's dedication to fostering local Bahraini talent, and stating that it reflected the hotel's commitment to nurturing the next generation of Bahraini hospitality professionals. "The programme provides students with an invaluable opportunity to immerse themselves in the hospitality industry, gain practical experience, and develop the expertise needed to excel in their careers," she noted.
