Hitachi India appoints N Venu as Managing Director

Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd. has announced the appointment of N Venu as its new Managing Director, effective 2 June 2025. This appointment is part of Hitachi's broader strategy to strengthen its business operations in India and aligns with the company's global growth plan, Inspire 2027 .
Venu currently serves as the Managing Director & CEO of Hitachi Energy India Limited and Region Head of South Asia at Hitachi Energy. He will take on his new responsibilities at Hitachi India in addition to his existing roles. His appointment follows the elevation of Dr. Bharat Kaushal, who became the Executive Chairman of Hitachi India on 1 April 2025. Dr. Kaushal was previously the first Indian Managing Director of Hitachi India.
As Managing Director, Venu will oversee the integration and strategic alignment of 28 Hitachi Group companies in India. His focus will include expanding the Lumada business, promoting IT-OT integration, and enhancing collaboration across sectors including Rail, Digital, Energy, Financial Services, Education, and Healthcare.
Hitachi is working to position India as a global solutions hub, aiming to deliver value through a high-margin, high-revenue business model. The company's approach includes building a Delivery-layer framework supported by strategic partnerships, in line with its vision of 'India for India and India for the World.'
Venu brings nearly 40 years of industry experience and has led Hitachi Energy India since its inception in 2019. He served as Chairman of the Karnataka Chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) during 2024–25. He holds an Electrical Engineering degree from NIT Warangal and has completed executive education programs at IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad, and IMD Switzerland.
