Alabama Choir School performs spring concert at the University of Alabama
The Alabama Choir School held its spring concert May 12 in the concert hall of the Moody Music Building on the University of Alabama campus. The spring concert included songs from around the globe, as well as selections from the musical "Wicked." The Tuscaloosa-based, nonprofit school originated in 1985 and now consists of four choirs that perform concerts locally and out-of-state. This academic year, the members of the Alabama Choir School sang at opening night of the Tinsel Trail at Government Plaza, performed with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra during the "Home for the Holidays" concert and sang the national anthem before a University of Alabama gymnastics meet and a basketball game at Coleman Coliseum. More: Festivals, concerts fill Tuscaloosa's calendar in 2025 During the spring, the Alabama Choir School went on a field trip to Nashville and recording a song during a tour of the Grand Ole Opry. The choir also performed at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Franklin, Tennessee. In the audience was Karen Nicolosi, the choir's founder.
