Country Duo LOCASH Scores Its Biggest Radio Hit Yet With ‘Hometown Home'

LOCASH reached No. 1 on country radio charts this month with 'Homeowners Home.' How does hitmaking duo LOCASH plan to celebrate radio hit 'Hometown Home' hitting the top of the country charts? Not by slowing down, that's for sure. 'We haven't had a moment yet,' said Preston Brust, one-half of the Nashville duo. 'We've been gone for almost three straight weeks, non-stop. We had a couple drinks and toasted it up to the two-week No. 1.' This month, 'Hometown Home' peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart for two consecutive weeks, a rare achievement in the competitive terrestrial format. At publication time,'Hometown Home' sat at No. 3 on the chart, behind Morgan Wallen's 'I'm The Problem' (No. 1) and John Morgan-Jason Aldean collaboration 'Friends Like That' (No. 2). The single comes off LOCASH's new album Bet The Farm, which debuted last week on the duo's independent record company, Galaxy Label Group. The song – a polished country-pop number about building a life with the one you love, no matter where that may be – sticks with listeners because 'you could be from anywhere' and relate to it, said LOCASH member Chris Lucas. 'There's so many hometown songs,' Lucas said. 'But this one's a little different. … Wherever he or she wants to go, you're gonna move for them. You're gonna make that hometown work.' The duo runs the label with distribution from BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. In hindsight, 'it was pretty wild' to launch a label, Brust said. 'There were actually three deals signed in November 2023,' Brust said, discussing the band's exit from BMG to launch Galaxy. 'The first deal was [leaving] He continued, 'You fast-forward to April [2024, when the song debuted] and here comes 'Hometown Home,' to the batters' box. Just wound up and hit it out of the park for us. Here we are, ready to sign new artists. We're excited about sharing their dream with them. Let's see if we can take some new artists – or some existing artists – to No. 1.' And "Hometown Home" anchors Bet The Farm, the new album that hopes to produce more radio hits for LOCASH. The next single is 'Wrong Hearts,' a crooning country love tune touched with steel guitar. But for now, the duo plans to continue riding the wave from its latest hit. 'We want 'Hometown Home' to become an evergreen country gold record,' Brust said. 'We want to give it time to breathe, give it time to celebrate itself.'
