Authorities seek public's help in search for Compton murder suspect
Authorities are asking for help from the public as they continue their search for a man wanted in connection with a murder that happened in May. Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Poinsettia Avenue on May 9 after learning of a death in the area, according to a release shared on Monday. An LASD bulletin sharing information on the search for Darney Harris, a 55-year-old man wanted for murder in Compton. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department During their investigation they determined the suspect to be Darney Harris, a 55-year-old man who frequents Buena Park, downtown Los Angeles and Compton. He is described as standing 5-foot-11 and weighs around 25 pounds, deputies said. He is bald with brown eyes. Anyone who knows more is asked to contact LASD's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Shooting leaves man dead, woman wounded in East Los Angeles
A man was killed and a woman was wounded during an early morning shooting in East Los Angeles on Monday. It happened at around 2:30 a.m. near the 300 block of S. Woods Avenue, south of the 60 Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Upon arrival, deputies found the victims, a 51-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both rushed to a nearby hospital where the man later died. He has not yet been identified. Deputies say that the woman was showing stable vital signs at the latest. There was no information provided on a suspect or motive in the shooting. 1 dead, 1 in custody after altercation escalates to shooting in Cutler Bay, MDSO says
A man is dead and another is in custody after an exchange of gunfire between two men late Monday morning in Cutler Bay, authorities said. Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office responded shortly before 12:30 p.m. to reports of shots fired near the 18400 block of SW 86th Court, the agency said. According to investigators, two men were involved in an altercation that escalated when both pulled out firearms. One of the men was shot and taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later died. The second man was detained at the scene for questioning, according to MDSO. The agency's Homicide Bureau has taken over the investigation. Authorities have not released the names of those involved. Apple Valley man jailed in connection with double-fatal shooting in Hesperia
A second victim has died and a suspect is in custody following a shooting in an residential neighborhood in Hesperia, authorities said Wednesday. The deadly shooting took place about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Sheffield and Madrone streets, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Deputies responding to reports of an armed man found 60-year-old Carlos Gonzales lying in the driveway of his home, suffering from gunshot wounds, sheriff's officials said in in a written statement. He died from his injuries at the scene. A 59-year-old Victorville woman was also found lying next to Gonzales suffering from gunshot wounds, officials said. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment, but ultimately could not be saved, sheriff's officials said. Her identity had not been released by San Bernardino County coroner's officials. Detectives from the Sheriff's Specialized Investigation Detail, Homicide Bureau soon identified 27-year-old Christian Liam Armstrong as a suspect in the double homicide, officials said. He was taken into custody shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Roundup Way and Pioneer Road in Apple Valley, according to county booking records. No further details, including a possible motive in the shooting, were available. Armstrong was being held without bail pending an arraignment hearing, scheduled Friday in the Victorville branch of San Bernardino County Superior Court. An online fundraiser was established on to aid Gonzales' family."On Tuesday, May 20, our family suffered a heartbreaking tragedy," read a statement accompanying the fundraiser. "A beloved family member Carlos Gonzales was senselessly shot and killed in Hesperia, California. This devastating loss has left their children grieving and in urgent need of support."
