Fact Check: Viral video claiming to show passenger live-streaming from Ahmedabad crash is fake

A video circulating on social media claiming to be a Facebook Live recording from inside the Air India AI171 flight that crashed in Ahmedabad has been proven to be fake.
The clip, shared by multiple users including one account named Honest Cricket Lover, shows a man recording himself on a flight moments before a crash. The video, captioned as being from the June 12 Ahmedabad plane crash, has garnered significant traction online, stirring emotions and panic.
However, fact-checkers and independent sources have confirmed that the video is actually from a previous plane crash in Nepal. The clip was part of an incident involving a Yeti Airlines crash in Pokhara, Nepal, in January 2023, in which a passenger had live-streamed the final moments on Facebook before the aircraft went down.
