Is Knicks guard Jalen Brunson more reliable than Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum?
Is Knicks guard Jalen Brunson more reliable than Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum? Is New York Knicks star point guard Jalen Brunson a more reliable player than Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum? In the wake of the Celtics Game 2 loss to the Knicks in their 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals second round series at TD Garden on this past Wednesday (May 7) night, such was the position taken by the eponymous host of the "Hoops Tonight with Jason Timpf" podcast when looking back and analyzing the second New York win of the series. Is this a bad take based on recency bias, or is there some substance to Timpf's take about the reliability of the St. Louis native compared to that of the Knicks floor general? And what does he think about Boston's odds of coming back to win this series and not be yet another defending champ going out in the second round of the postseason? Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what he had to say about Tatum, Brunson, and the East Semis.

The Boston Celtics are playing like champs in their recent trouncing of the 76ers
The Boston Celtics have showed they are playing like champs in their recent trouncing of the Philadelphia 76ers, and it is not just fans of the storied ball club taking note of the Celtics' late-season transformation. Boston has been rounding into postseason form as the roster has gotten healthier and their key players -- star forward Jayson Tatum in particular -- have begun to play like the defending champions that they are again. One such league analyst taking note of the Celtics' contention clean-up is the eponymous host of the "Hoops Tonight with Jason Timpf" show. In a recent episode, Timpf gets into what he saw from Boston in their recent, blowout win over Joel Embiid and the Sixers. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what he had to say. Star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is this generation's version of the LeBron James
Star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is this generation's version of the LeBron James Swiss Army knife player. Or at least that is the position of the eponymous host of the "Hoops Tonight with Jason Timpf" podcast host on a recent episode of his show. And if you squint a bit, the comparison rings true. The St. Louis native is an athletic, physical forward with a high basketball IQ and few faults in his game apart from not being one of the league's most elite shots from beyond the arc. He gets where he wants when he wants, and can control the game to suit his intent. Most importantly, when he is locked in, it is over for his opponents. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what Timpf had to say about Tatum's latest evolution as a player.
