Seven people arrested as N.B. RCMP seize loaded guns, drugs

Seven people were arrested after New Brunswick RCMP seized 31 firearms and 'significant quantities' of drugs from six locations last month.
The crime reduction unit launched an investigation into illegal drug trafficking in southeastern New Brunswick last fall, according to an RCMP news release.
Officers executed search warrants in the Moncton, Riverview and Hopewell Cape areas on May 27 as part of the investigation. They seized:
loaded and assault-style weapons
two vehicles
suspected cocaine
crystal methamphetamine
isotonitazene
hash
drug trafficking paraphernalia
money
Police arrested six men and one woman during the operation:
a 49-year-old man from Riverview
a 46-year-old man from Hopewell Cape
a 34-year-old man from Riverview
a 27-year-old man from Moncton
a 25-year-old woman from Riverview
a 22-year-old man from Riverview
an 18-year-old man from Riverview
All seven of them are scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on Sept. 17.
The investigation is ongoing.
