HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WKRN) — A woman was taken into custody after a man was shot in the neck last week in Hopkinsville, officials said. According to the Hopkinsville Police Department's Facebook post from Friday, May 30, a call came in just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21 about shots fired near E 2nd Street and Liberty Street. Hopkinsville and Clarksville police work together to arrest burglary suspect Officers and detectives responded to the scene and quickly found the victim, who was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the neck, law enforcement said. Authorities said they interviewed the victim, who identified the person who shot him as 21-year-old Shadymon Buckner. The victim had reportedly gotten into an argument with Buckner before the shooting. ⏩ While officers and detectives were trying to track down Buckner, she turned herself in to the police department, according to officials. Investigators executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Howell Street and found the gun that Buckner had allegedly tossed after the shooting. HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WKRN) — A man accused of 'strangulating' a Hopkinsville officer back in March was reportedly indicted by the Christian County Grand Jury Friday for multiple charges. The Hopkinsville Police Department said an officer noticed a motorcycle passing a vehicle on the right side of the shoulder at Old Clarksville Pike and Fort Campbell Boulevard on March 12. As a result, the officer initiated a traffic stop near mile marker 7 on Pennyrile Parkway. The officer made contact with the motorcyclist, 43-year-old Carlo Jones of Hopkinsville, who 'became extremely argumentative and advised that he did not need to provide his driver's license,' authorities said. PREVIOUS: Man accused of 'strangulating' officer during traffic stop in Hopkinsville When the officer tried to detain Jones, he allegedly pulled away and pushed the officer. Then, Jones ran toward the officer and bear-hugged him, causing both Jones and the officer to fall over the guardrail, down toward an embankment near water, according to police. After that, officials said Jones 'mounted the officer and began strangulating the officer to the point of almost losing consciousness.' The officer was reportedly brought to the hospital for treatment after At the time of the incident, law enforcement said Jones was charged with attempted murder of a first responder (peace officer), resisting arrest, menacing, and improper passing. ⏩ More than two months later, on Friday, May 16, a true bill was returned indicting Jones for first degree attempted murder of a police officer, first-degree strangulation, third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, and menacing, according to WKDZ Radio. Hopkinsville Fire/EMS said crews responded to the crash in the the 2400 block of Russellville Road around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 11. Man accused of driving through crowd in Hopkinsville, injuring woman According to WKDZ Radio, the Hopkinsville Police Department said an eastbound truck was turning into Western State Hospital when it collided with a westbound motorcycle. A man and a woman who were riding the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County coroner, officials reported. According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, 30-year-old Isaiah Edwards was driving eastbound along Pembroke Road on Monday, May 5 when the vehicle veered to the right and hit four cyclists. Bicyclist dies after colliding with SUV in Murfreesboro One bicyclist was brought to Jennie Stuart Health and immediately flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center while another cyclist was also transported to Jennie Stuart Health and later flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, authorities said. Both individuals were reportedly in critical but stable condition when they were flown to the Nashville hospitals. Officials told News 2 that 31-year-old Marlene Martin was pronounced dead on Tuesday, May 6, followed by 34-year-old Rachel Hoover on Saturday, May 10. Bicyclist critically injured after crash on Old Hickory Boulevard in Bellevue According to law enforcement, Edwards was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff's Office and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance (third offense, aggravating circumstance). HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WKRN) — A man is facing a number of charges after he reportedly drove through a crowd of people during a party in Hopkinsville Friday night. The Hopkinsville Police Department said Mark Ware was driving his vehicle on East 18th Street, where he 'intentionally' drove through the crowd just before 11:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9. According to WKDZ Radio, authorities said the 46-year-old's truck stopped in the road, reversed into a parked vehicle, went forward into a tent with several people surrounding a table inside, hit a parked car, and stopped on top of a woman in her 60s during a party on Broad Street. Search for 'armed and dangerous' suspect continues in Southern Kentucky Officials told News 2 the woman who was hit and trapped under Ware's vehicle was flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, where she's considered stable at this time. Ware allegedly tried to leave the scene several times, but he was stopped by witnesses.
