Former YSU head coach leads Utah State to March Madness
LOGAN, UT. (WKBN) – Former Youngstown State Men's basketball coach Jerrod Calhoun has led his new team Utah State to the 2025 Men's NCAA Tournament.
Utah State is a No. 10 seed going against No. 7 UCLA in the Midwest Region.
Calhoun led the 'Guins to five consecutive winning seasons with an overall record of 118-106.
In 2023, Calhoun led YSU to a school-record 15 conference wins and the program's very first regular-season conference championship. He was also named the Horizon League Coach of the Year in 2023.
Calhoun accepted the Aggies job in Spring 2024 as the program's 22nd head basketball coach.
The former YSU head coach led Utah State to 15 conference wins and a three seed in the 2025 Men's Mountain West Conference Tournament.
The Aggies advanced to the third round of the conference tournament and lost to the eventual conference champions Colorado State.
Utah State (22-10) takes on UCLA (26-7) in the 2025 Men's NCAA Tournament First Round on Thursday, March 20 in Lexington, Kentucky.
