When Watford fans will know which games selected for live TV

(Image: PA) Watford fans will again know before the first ball of the new season has been kicked which matches have been selected for live TV broadcast up until January. The fixture list for the Hornets' Championship campaign will be published tomorrow (Thursday) at 12 noon, with new head coach Paulo Pezzolano set to take charge of his first game over the weekend of Saturday, August 9. Advertisement Next season will be the second of the EFL's five-year domestic broadcast deal with Sky Sports, meaning five Championship fixtures will again be shown live on each weekend throughout the campaign. The matches selected for live broadcast over the first weekend of the season will be announced tomorrow, with confirmation of the games selected until the end of September to be made by July 3. The notice periods for Sky Sports selections are unchanged from last season and are stated on the EFL website as follows: - On the 2025/26 Fixture Release Day, selections shall be confirmed in respect of the opening weekends of the Championship and League One and League Two seasons. Advertisement - By 3 July 2025, selections shall be announced in respect of all live broadcast matches to be played before the end of September. - By 31 July 2025, selections shall be announced in respect of all matches scheduled to be played prior to the end of the third round of the FA Cup (January 2026). - By 7 November 2025, selections shall be announced in respect of all matches to be played between the end of the third round proper of the FA Cup and the last weekend of February. - Selections for matches scheduled after the first weekend in March will be announced on a four-week rolling basis starting from February 1 (e.g. a selection for the first weekend in April will be selected in the first weekend in March). Advertisement - Selections for matches scheduled for the penultimate weekend of the regular season will be announced three weeks in advance. - Selections for matches scheduled for the final weekend of the regular season will be announced the week prior. Watford will also find out tomorrow who they will face in the first round of the Carabao Cup, with the draw due to made on Sky Sports at 4.30pm. Ties will be played in the week starting August 11.
