House of Henry 'Luck of the Irish' 3-day celebration comes to a close
BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – House of Henry Irish pub is wrapping up a 3-day annual 'Luck of the Irish' St. Patrick's Day celebration. Today marks the pub's grand finale of a weekend full of live music, green drinks, and delicious Irish fare. In fact, all of downtown Panama City has gotten into the spirit, enjoying a bit of Irish culture, sipping and strolling. To a number of businesses. Officials say today's turnout has been larger than expected, but they were prepared. St. Patrick's Day events happening in Bay County 'It's been absolutely fantastic. Every day has been surprisingly much better than I expected. And today, I think this is the big grand finale, really. I mean, we're all way ahead of what I expected already,' entertainment coordinator Corey Hall said. The festivities are scheduled to wrap up at 11 p.m. tonight. Experience the luck of the Irish in downtown Panama City this weekend
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Follow the rainbow to downtown Panama City this weekend for a St. Patrick's Day celebration. Saturday, the Luck of the Irish Bingo Sip & Stroll kicked off. Despite the ongoing construction on Harrison Ave., the sidewalks are open, so you can visit the 25 participating businesses to complete your bingo card. House of Henry is hosting the main St. Patrick's Day celebration. Festivities kicked off Saturday morning with a kegs and eggs breakfast. Bay County residents urged to take precautions against rabies The event features foot-stomping, live Irish music throughout the day. There's something for the whole family with activities like stein hoisting contests, scavenger hunts, costume contests, and more. 'This is Panama City's local Irish pub; this is the only one in town that's locally made and locally run and operated. And we're trying to keep the culture of St. Patrick's Day alive and keep it in a family friendly, friendly environment for everybody to enjoy,' House of Henry event coordinator Corey Hall said. There's still plenty of time to get your green on if you missed Saturday's event. The schedule of events will repeat Sunday and Monday. Panama City parks announce road closures for upcoming events
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Panama City Parks officials have announced road closures due to upcoming events in the city this week. The Bay County Chamber of Commerce will kick off its annual Block Party on Thursday, March 13th. Road closures will be from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on W. 5th Street (from Oak Ave. to Mercer Ave.) and Oak Ave. (from Mercer to W. 5th Street). Parking in Mercer will be reserved for staff and vendors only. Sham-rock the streets: House of Henry hosts annual St. Patrick's Day celebration House of Henry will be hosting a St. Patrick's Day event on Saturday, March 15th. Residents can expect road closures from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. on the alleyway behind House of Henry (from 5th Street to Downtown Breezeway) Parking behind the facility will be reserved for vendors. St. Patrick's Day at the Dive will be happening on Saturday, March 15th. Road closures will be from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Bayview Avenue (from 11th Street to 11th Court). Sham-rock the streets: House of Henry hosts annual St. Patrick's Day celebration
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – This weekend, you can experience the luck of the Irish at House of Henry's annual St. Patrick's Day celebration. The event is on rain or shine, so follow the rainbow to downtown Panama City to get in on the fun. It kicks off Saturday morning at 9 a.m with a kegs and eggs breakfast. You can pick up bingo cards from House of Henry to participate in the downtown 'sip and stroll.' Despite the ongoing construction on Harrison, the sidewalks will be open, so you can visit the 25 businesses participating in the downtown bingo. Live music will be offered from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., playing foot-stomping Irish music and more. The event also features costume contests, stein hoisting contests, scavenger hunts, and more. Remarkable Women: Jamie Gary gives women beauty for ashes The schedule of events will repeat on Sunday and Monday. Event organizers say there's something for everyone at the celebration. 'We are focusing on the traditional family-friendly and very Irish-rooted celebration for the festivities this year, just to keep everything as culturally festive as possible,' House of Henry Director of Hospitality Chandra Adams said. We want it to be family friendly, focused on the Irish tradition. If you want to come out and see the cultural significance of what Saint Patrick's Day is and what it's all about, this is the place to be. We want you here at House of Henry downtown,' House of Henry Events Coordinator Corey Hall said. There will be local vendors on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. till dark. Before the celebration kicks off, House of Henry is also doing a fundraiser Friday evening. A portion of happy hour and dinner proceeds will go towards treatments for a local five-year-old girl battling a rare form of cancer.
