CAIRO, May 3, 2025: Egyptian squash stars Mohamed Zakaria and Hana Moataz have advanced to the final round of the Bermuda Open Squash Championship, currently taking place in Devonshire, England, from April 29 to May 3. The tournament offers a total prize pool of $25,000.
In the finals, Mohamed Zakaria will face off against Colombia's Miguel Rodriguez, while Hana Moataz is set to compete against Malaysia's Aira Azman.
The tournament featured strong Egyptian representation, with six players participating: Mohamed Zakaria, Omar Mosaad, Karim El Hammamy, Yassin Elshafei, Ibrahim Elkabbani, and Mostafa El Serty.
Zakaria, a rising talent in the squash world, recently broke into the top 20 of the PSA world rankings thanks to his standout performances in major international competitions. At just 17 years old, he became the second-youngest player in history to achieve this feat—trailing only legendary Pakistani player Jahangir Khan, who accomplished it at the age of 16.
Zakaria also holds the title of World Junior Squash Champion, having won the individual title at the World Junior Championships held at the Houston Squash Club in the United States from July 12 to 23 of last year.
