Israeli airstrikes target Yemen's Sanaa Airport
Shafaq News/ On Wednesday, an Israeli attack targeted Sanaa International Airport in the capital of Yemen. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the operation, stating that the attack destroyed the final aircraft still in use by the Houthis. He added that Israeli forces would continue to target Yemeni ports, Sanaa Airport and other strategic infrastructure used by the Houthi movement and its allies. 'The Houthi terror organization will be under naval and aerial blockade,' Katz stated. Commenting on the operation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that Israel would continue to retaliate forcefully against any attack. He also accused Iran of being 'the primary force behind the aggression from Yemen.' However, Iran denied involvement in the Houthi operations, asserting that the group acts independently. Since the resumption of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip on March 18, the Houthis have carried out a number of attacks on Israel, the most recent of which were attacks yesterday on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv and 'a strategic Israeli facility', according to a statement by Houthis. The Israeli army has conducted multiple strikes on Houthi-controlled infrastructure in Yemen since the Iran-backed group began targeting Israeli shipping in the Red Sea and launching long-range missiles at Israel in solidarity with Gaza, where the death toll has reached 54,056 and 123,129 have been wounded since October 7, 2023. In March 2025, the United States launched a large-scale military campaign, codenamed Operation Rough Rider, targeting Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen. Over 1,000 air and naval operations targeted radar systems, missile sites, and air defense installations. The US President Donald Trump announced earlier this month a halt to US strikes following a ceasefire agreement under which the Houthis pledged to stop targeting maritime traffic. The truce did not extend to Israel, and Houthi attacks on Israeli interests have continued.

Yemeni Official: No ceasefire talks with Washington
Shafaq News/ A senior Yemeni military official denied the existence of any ceasefire agreements between the Houthis and the United States or Israel, affirming that military operations were escalating amid continued US airstrikes. 'There is no intention or effort to halt fire,' Abed Mohammed, a military adviser at the Houthis-affiliated Defense Ministry, told Shafaq News in an exclusive interview, pointing out that battles have 'reached their peak,' with the US signaling an escalation by extending the deployment of the USS Harry S. Truman for another month and considering the deployment of an additional aircraft carrier. Mohammed revealed that Yemeni forces had engaged with four aircraft carriers and forced the deployment of a fifth, pointing to increasing American losses and Yemen's capability to target US strategic assets in the region. In a separate interview with Shafaq News, strategic and military expert Brigadier General Yahya Hassan Al-Houthi dismissed any possibility of a truce 'unless our demands are fulfilled.' Al-Houthi said, 'These include an end to aggression against Gaza, the lifting of blockades, and the delivery of humanitarian aid such as food, water, and medicine. We also demand the initiation of reconstruction negotiations.'
