Grupo Firme Level Up With Anticipated Album ‘Evolucion'

Grupo Firme's new album Evolución is here. On Friday, the Mexican band released their latest studio album offering, which as the title suggests, is a step up for the band. The new LP includes original collaborations with Gloria Trevi, Joss Favela, and Carolina Ross. 'The process of creating the album took a while because we kept adding songs,' Eduin Caz tells Rolling Stone. 'We spent a month re-recording everything so it would have the same feeling, the same flavor. There were sleepless nights, there were really no arguments, and it was really fun.' 'I wanted to take that risk, and I want people to feel what I felt through music,' adds Caz. In terms of the making of the project, the singer said that the band decided to focus on creating a record that felt cohesive and not as on-the-whim as some of the group's previous projects, many of which are live recordings. Evolución is Grupo Firme's first studio album in three years. 'Grupo Firme wanted to give you something new, fresh, with greater detail and more planning, not so much something improvised like our past albums but a production that's super prepared, great musicians with every person participating adding value,' Caz says. The album features previously released singles 'Hubiéramos' and 'Beneficio de La Duda,' written by Joss Favela, who also joins the band on 'La Vida Es Pa'Gozarla.' The group includes Gloria Trevi on banda song 'Súfrale,' and close out the record with 'Todavia Te Amo' featuring Carolina Ross.
