Clare Gardai launch investigation after rural areas targeted by thieves
One incident saw the theft of a trailer in an area near Killaloe in Co Clare.
The trailer was stolen from the area of Ardnatagle in Broadford on Friday morning, June 13 just after 2am.
Gardaí in the Cappantymore area of Meelick recovered the trailer on Monday, June 16 at 9.30am following a report from a member of the public.
Although the trailer was located and returned to the owner, Gardaí say they will continue their investigation into the theft. The trailer is described as silver in colour with two ramps. The mud flaps are distinctive as the rim of the mud flaps are orange in colour and the trailer also had unique LED lights to the rear of the trailer. A spare tyre was bolted to the bottom of the trailer.
Gardai have asked that anyone who believes they observed this trailer at any stage between Friday and yesterday morning to contact Killaloe Garda Station.
Meanwhile elsewhere in the county, Kilkee Gardaí are investigating the theft of a cattle box from a yard in the Glascloune area of Doonbeg.
The theft occurred between Friday morning at 9am and Saturday morning at 9am. The owner describes their trailer as a silver Hudson 3 Axle trailer; it is a 12Ft 6 trailer.
Gardaí in Kilkee are investigating a second theft that occurred on Friday June 13 from the Doonmore area of Doonbeg. On this occasion, a HB 5 11 horsebox was stolen between Friday evening at 8pm and 4pm on Saturday evening.
Between Friday June 13 and Saturday evening June 14, two distinctive items were stolen. Gardai are appealing to anyone that was driving in or near Doonbeg on Friday night if they remember seeing a vehicle drawing either a cattle box or a horsebox on the night.

Gardaí are also investigating a theft that occurred overnight in Milltown Malbay. At 11.45pm on Monday June 16, the injured party parked their vehicle, a white Toyota Hiace van and trailer, on Ennis Road. The injured party discovered the van and trailer had been stolen when they were leaving for work. The trailer is an open car trailer, a Brian James T6. Both the white Toyota Hiace van and the Brian James car trailer are very distinguishing.
Investigating Gardaí would like to speak to anyone that may have been in the Milltown Malbay area last night between 11.45pm on Monday night and 5am on Tuesday morning.
