Bahrain Hosts Kyrgyz President Amid Series of Diplomatic Engagements
Manama: Bahraini newspapers today spotlighted a flurry of diplomatic and governmental activities, marking a significant day in Bahrain's international relations and domestic affairs. Among the key events was the arrival of the Kyrgyz President, who engaged in a series of official visits and meetings.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Kyrgyz President's visit to Bahrain included a tour of the Bahrain National Museum and discussions with high-ranking officials. His itinerary also featured a meeting with HM King, who has been actively engaging in diplomatic dialogues, including an invitation from the Iraqi President to the 34th Arab Summit and a condolence message to the Vatican Secretary of State on the passing of HH Pope Francis.
In parallel, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed condolences to the Cardinal Secretary of State. The Deputy Prime Minister led the weekly Cabinet Meeting and met with the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister to discuss regional cooperation.
The Foreign Ministry advanced its focus on human rights, conducting the third workshop on the 2027-2031 Human Rights Plan, emphasizing media and journalism. The Municipalities Minister reiterated Bahrain's dedication to Earth Day goals, while the Tourism Minister engaged with the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain.
Further diplomatic exchanges included the Transportation Minister's meeting with the UN Assistant Secretary General and UNDP Regional Director, and the Works Minister's discussions with the Italian Ambassador. The Sustainable Development Minister also held talks with the UN Assistant Secretary General.
The seventh round of political consultations between Bahrain and Japan's Foreign Ministries underscored Bahrain's commitment to strengthening international partnerships. Additionally, the BDF General Command announced live ammunition exercises, signaling ongoing military preparedness.
The Kyrgyz President's engagements continued with a meeting with the Shura Chairman, and Bahrain's Speaker and Shura Foreign Affairs Committee hosted a visiting French Senator, reinforcing Bahrain's diplomatic outreach.
On the parliamentary front, a Bahraini delegation participated in the Arab Parliament session in Baghdad, reflecting Bahrain's active role in regional parliamentary affairs. Domestically, the SIO completed preparations for disbursing the revised cost-of-living allowance for retirees, showcasing the government's focus on social welfare.
