NFL free agency: Former Arizona Cardinals LT D.J. Humphries signs with LA Rams
NFL free agency: Former Arizona Cardinals LT D.J. Humphries signs with LA Rams D.J. Humphries joins the Rams after his contract with the 49ers fell through.
Former Arizona Cardinals left tackle and first-round pick D.J. Humphries is returning to the NFC West, but not in the it was expected. He was expected to sign with the San Francisco 49ers at the end of April after the NFL draft.
That apparently didn't happen. After the initial report, a contract did not get finalized, meaning he remained a free agent.
But according Humphries' agency, he has signed with the Los Angeles Rams.
Humphries was drafted in the first round by the Cardinals in 2015 and played eight seasons, seven as a starter. He made one Pro Bowl. After he tore his ACL at the end of 2023, the Cardinals released him and he, after recovering, signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, playing two games for the AFC Champions.
Now 31 years old, he offers the Rams some tackle depth. As he joins a fellow NFC West team, he face the Cardinals twice in the 2025 season, including a homecoming trip to State Farm Stadium.
