Haj flight operations from Kerala begin
The first batch of Haj pilgrims from Kerala under the State Haj Committee supervision left Karipur for Jeddah in the early hours of Saturday. Air India Express flight IX 3011 took off from Karipur at 12.45 a.m. carrying 172 pilgrims. As many as 95 of them were women. The pilgrims had reached the Haj camp at Haj House, Karipur, on Friday morning. They held the Juma prayers at the camp. Minister in charge of Haj affairs V. Abdurahiman inaugurated the camp, and bid farewell to the first batch of pilgrims. The second Haj flight departed from Karipur at 4.30 p.m. with 87 men and 86 women on board. Officials said there would be three Haj flights from Karipur and two from Kannur on Sunday. The flights from Karipur will be at 12.55 a.m., 8.50 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. The pilgrims flying on Sunday reached the Haj camps on Saturday. The first flight from Kannur will leave at 4 a.m. on Sunday, and the second flight will be at 7.30 p.m. The Haj camp offers various amenities, including medical facilities and currency exchange services. Airlines operating Haj flights have imposed temporary baggage weight restrictions until Monday due to international air traffic regulations. The Minister urged the Haj pilgrims to pray for global peace, particularly in light of escalating border tensions. He advised them to take care and precautions against extreme heat in Saudi Arabia. Haj Committee Chairman Husain Saqafi Chullikkode presided over the inaugural function. P. Abdul Hameed, MLA, was the chief guest. Ahamed Devarkovil, MLA, T.V. Ibrahim, MLA, and P.T.A. Raheem, MLA, spoke. Syed Rasheedali Shihab led a prayer.

Kerala's inaugural Haj flight from Karipur on May 10
The season's first Haj flight from Kerala will take off from the Calicut International Airport, Karipur, at 1.20 a.m. on May 10. As many as 5,361 pilgrims will be flying from Karipur on 31 flights between May 10 and May 22. Haj Committee officials said here that elaborate arrangements were being made for the smooth conduct of the Haj operations. Apart from Karipur, Haj services are being operated from Kannur and Kochi airports as well. 81 services A total of 81 services will be operated from the three embarkation points in the State. The first flight from the Kannur International Airport will leave at 4 a.m. on May 11, and the one from the Cochin International Airport at 5.55 p.m. on May 16. When Air India Express is operating Haj services from Karipur and Kannur, Saudi Arabian Airlines is operating from Nedumbassery. There will be 31 flights from Karipur, 29 from Kannur, and 21 from Nedumbassery. There will be 177 pilgrims on the inaugural flight from Karipur. While the Karipur Haj flights will conclude on May 22, the services from Kannur will conclude on May 29 and those from Nedumbassery on May 30. As many as 15,870 pilgrims are going for Haj under the State Haj Committee supervision this year. Out of them, 24 will be flying from embarkation points outside Kerala. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) held a meeting of officials involved in Haj operations at Karipur on Tuesday. Airport director C.V. Raveendran and Haj Committee chairman Husain Saqafi Chullikkode reviewed the preparations.

Call to address concerns over private Haj pilgrimage
The Madin Academy here on Tuesday held its 26th State-level Haj camp, bringing together hundreds of pilgrims from across the State to prepare for their upcoming pilgrimage to Makkah. Haj Committee Chairman Husain Saqafi Chullikkode inaugurated the camp. Madin Academy Chairman Syed Ibrahim Khaleel Bukhari presided over the function. Mr. Bukhari asked the government to address the concerns being raised over private Haj groups in the country. He said facilities should be provided to all pilgrims by holding discussions with the Saudi Arabian authorities. Haj scholar Koottampara Abdurahman Darimi led the class with the backup of miniature Ka'ba model. Scholar Ibrahim Baqavi Melmuri answered the questions from the participants. Syed Ismail Bukhari, Syed Mohammed Farook Jamalullaili, Syed Swalih Kasim Hydrusi, State Minority Commission member A. Saifudheen Haji, Haj Committee members M.S. Anas Haji, Moideen Kutty, P.T. Akbar and Ashkar Korad, and Haj Committee trainers Mujeeb Rahman, Dahar Mohammed and Jaleel Saqafi spoke. Haj kits were distributed to the participants. The event also saw the release of the new edition of a book on Haj written by Khalid Saqafi, which serves as a comprehensive guide for pilgrims throughout their journey. Madin Academy provided stay and food for the participants from distant places. A 1,001-member Madin voluntary corps with experience in Haj service helped the participants.
