Skechers trainers that feel like ‘walking on air' slashed to £36 in flash sale

Shoppers have praised a pair of Skechers trainers for being so comfortable they're 'like walking on air' and they're now on sale down from £59 to £36 for a limited time Whether you've got a whole day of sightseeing planned on holiday or need to be on your feet for a full shift at work, nothing will ruin your day quite like aching feet. However shoppers have been going wild for Skechers Summits Top Player Sneakers thanks to how lightweight and comfortable they are, saying they'd worn them all day without issues. Usually priced at £59 on Amazon, the online retailer has currently got them on sale with prices reduced as low as £36. Prices do vary depending on which colourways you choose, with some still full price, but others are slashed by 39%, saving you plenty of money. ‌ ‌ What makes the Summits Top Player Sneakers so comfortable is the classic Skechers memory foam insole, which is cushioned and flexible enough to keep your feet comfortable all day. The midsole of the trainers is also made from a lightweight shock absorbing material which limits impact to your heel and prevents aches and pains. The uppers are made from mesh, which keeps things breathable and lightweight to stop your feet from overheating and sweating. Stretch laces also help make them easier to get on and off, and help the trainers to move with your feet as you're walking. ‌ Although Amazon is offering this great deal on the Skechers Summits Top Player Sneakers, directly from the Skechers website you can also save on the GO WALK Arch Fit - Uptown Summer trainers, which have been slashed from £90 to £71.99. The lightweight athletic design is perfect for workouts, and has an engineered mesh upper with a removable Arch Fit insole and a lightweight ULTRA GO cushioned midsole. For an even bigger saving, Hush Puppies has slashed the price of its Navy Opal Trainers from £75 to £29.99, saving you £45. For those looking for trending designs that still offer great support, FitFlop's range of comfortable trainers are available in a whole host of different styles and colourways. ‌ However the Skechers Summits Top Player Sneakers are currently available on Amazon in 26 different colour options, and come in sizes ranging from 2 to 10. You can also choose from regular or wide fitting options. Amazon shoppers have also given the trainers rave reviews, with one saying: 'Loving these trainers, easy to put on,true to size, and very very comfortable, it's like walking on air.' ‌ Another agreed: 'Skechers are Skechers. I have tried other brands and they aren't the same. These are good quality, breathable and very comfortable. I put them on and wore them for a whole day with no problems. The foot bed has memory foam which is cushioning and supports the foot. A clean line design and easy to slip on. I have been wearing them almost every since they arrived. Great shoes, I highly recommend them.' A third said: 'Words can't describe how comfy these shoes are, like walking on air! I spend a lot of time on my feet at work, these are spot on in size and extremely comfortable.' Some were less taken with their purchase, writing: 'Good quality however not sure they are standard size as they were to long and to wide (and couldn't just slip foot in without bending down to pull in).' Someone else chimed in: 'Advertised as best trainers around for nurses or people on their feet all day, after 10 hour shift these hurt, could feel the ground through the souls, not as comfortable as expected.' However others loved them, saying: 'Skechers are the most comfortable trainers ever. This is my 3rd pair of Summit trainers. They feel like you are walking on air, so comfortable and light weight . I also like the fact that they have no laces to tie. The design of these are brilliant.'

Bata India posts surprise profit fall in fourth quarter as footwear demand wanes

May 28 (Reuters) - Footwear maker Bata India ( opens new tab reported a surprise fourth-quarter profit decline on Wednesday, hurt by sluggish consumer demand as the high cost of living hurts household budgets. The company's quarterly consolidated profit fell 28% from a year ago to 459.2 million rupees ($5.4 million) while analysts expected a growth of around 5%, according to data compiled by LSEG. Bata, which also sells footwear brands such as Hush Puppies and North Star in India, said its revenue in the quarter dropped 1% from a year ago to 7.88 billion rupees, lower than the 8.23 billion rupees expected by analysts. Urban consumer demand in India remains weak due to the high cost of living and sluggish wage growth, with lower inflation in the fourth quarter offering little respite for consumer companies. Bata has strived to maximize volume-led growth in recent quarters by reducing the number of price points offered in stores to ease decision-making for customers, analysts have said. Peer Metro Brands ( opens new tab beat fourth quarter profit expectations, benefiting from growth in its premium segment, while Relaxo Footwears ( opens new tab reported declines in quarterly revenue, profit and volume of footwear sold. Mum avoids paying £50 for school shoes in September as she makes early start buying uniform & nabs same pair for £18.80

A MUM has shared how she managed to save herself a tonne of cash by getting an early start on the uniform buying ahead of the new school year. It can cost parents a fortune stocking up on uniform, shirts, bags, stationery and shoes for kids starting back at school in September. 3 3 But Sophie revealed she decided to get a head start, and has consequently saved money. "Trying to be savvy and get a head start on buying school uniform ready for September for my son," she wrote in a post on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook. "I loved the school shoes he had this year, they have lasted the whole year!" The shoes in question are the Hush Puppies Levi ones, for which she paid £45 last year. When she went on the hunt for the same shoes this time around, she found they are going for £50 on Debenhams. But with another search, she came across the shoes on the Sainsbury's website for £18.80. "So naturally I bought 2 pairs!" she added. Sophie also shared screenshots of the other uniform bits she'd picked up from Sainsbury's - including a two-pack of white polo shirts for £4.80 and two pairs of grey trousers for £5.60. "Virtually done uniform shopping already!" Other mums and dads quickly flooded the comments section, with one writing: "I always start now with the uniform shopping!" I make the UK's most controversial school uniform As others warned Sophie that she might end up spending even more if her son has a growth spurt before September. "Oh my, I did this and he grew two sizes before starting school," one admitted. "Maybe best holding off on the shoes!" "I try to be this savvy and buy the next size up and then she'll have a growth spurt," another said. "Over the Christmas break, she went up two shoe sizes. Two!" To which Sophie replied: "Hoping that doesn't happen for me. IF you can't get targeted help from your council, you might have some other options available to you. In some areas, you can talk directly to your school, which might be able to offer you clothing. Or, you might be able to get cheap garments from low-budget shops or charity stores. Some charities offer help to families in need too. But bear in mind charities often have a limited amount of money to give and usually have specific criteria which must be met in order to get a grant. Charity Turn2Us has a free grants search tool on its website which you can use to find out what help is available to you. Meanwhile, you can always try approaching your nearest Citizens' Advice branch. If you don't know where your nearest Citizens' Advice branch is, you can find out by visiting If you're not eligible for a school uniform grant you might be able to get help through the Household Support Fund. "My son's a very slow grower and has been in size 8's almost a year now so hoping the 9 will be okay come September." "I never buy new school uniform each year," someone else wrote. "My kids grow through the year still and ruin so many tops and trousers. "I just replace when needed - except the jumper and shoes." "Fair play to those who can do this, but I couldn't mine all have a growth spurt during the summer holidays," another agreed. "What I'd buy now probably won't fit and I certainly couldn't 'guess' their foot size for September. "They'd end up either being too big or too small. Lol!" "My son is tiny and has been in size 8 shoes almost a year now with no sign of needing a bigger size just yet so I've bought the next size up too just in case," Sophie responded.

'Unbelievably comfy' sandals with great arch support are said to help arthritis

If you're looking for a pair of sandals that are comfy enough to wear all day and still look cute on holiday, Reef's sandals could be your answer thanks to their great arch support One of the best parts about summer is being able to pull out your favourite sandals, and the best pair can be worn with everything from jeans and shorts to floaty dresses. However often sandals might look great, but end up rubbing or leaving your feet aching and sore thanks to a lack of support, which makes them unwearable if you're planning on being on your feet all day. However shoppers have found the perfect pair that balances both looks and comfort. The £65 Reef Cushion Rem Hi have gotten an impressive 4.7 star rating from reviewers who raved about how 'comfortable and cute' they are thanks to their great arch support and design. The Cushion Rem Hi sandals have a cage-like design, with adjustable straps across the ankles and toes so you can get a snug, secure fit. The backstrap is elasticated, giving you some added movement and stretch when you walk to prevent rubbing or blisters, and the straps are made from soft webbing which stops any chafing or stiffness. They have a comfortable platform-style sole with Reef's signature cushioned, bouncy footbed that gives you some added spring and absorbs shock while you walk. It's also moulded to give additional arch support and heel cupping, which stops those achey soles you often get with flat-footed sandals. The sandals have a very similar look to the iconic Teva Women's Flatform Universal, which are equally priced at £65. However the Teva's have a more sporty look, with a foam sole rather than a cork footbed which gives them a more casual look, compared to Reef's more polished style. You can also shop similar styles at Hush Puppies, where the Tan Uplift Quarter Strap Sandals are £85 and made from real leather with a bouncy cushioned sole. Alternatively, FitFlop's Adjustable Webbing/Leather Back-Strap Sandals are £80 and have a similar sporty look, with the brand's signature ultra-comfy and supportive soles. However, Reef shoppers seemingly can't get enough of the Cushion Rem Hi sandals, with one writing: 'This shoe is unbelievably comfortable. I am blown away and so happy. I have very messed up feet with years of injuries and surgeries so finding cute shoes that support you are amazing. I cannot rave about these more' Another agreed: 'I have arthritis problems I walk a lot on my vacation. No complaints the sandals were helping me a lot. Highly recommended.' Some faced issues with the fit, with one saying: 'I wear size 10-11 shoes. My feet are very narrow and bony. The plastic triangle that connects the straps near the toes rubbed uncomfortably against the bones of my feet. They were very cute and comfortable otherwise. I wish they worked better for my feet!' Whilst another added: 'These are adorable shoes but the back strap being elastic makes them odd to walk in; as if back strap too loose. Will return but still love Reef shoes.' Others loved them, though, raving: 'I got these a year ago because I needed a cute sandal with good arch support that didn't look like an old lady shoe. This has been SO comfy and cute and I am excited to see all the colorways available this year! I wear a 10-10.5 in women's ultras, but usually size down to a 9 in sandals. A 9 fits perfect in these. I wear a 9 in women's chacos as well for reference. Also I usually run wide, so the adjustable strap is perfect.' The Cushion Rem Hi sandals come in four different colours and styles – black, cream, pink and crochet – and are available in sizes 3 to 9. Reef suggests they generally fit true to size, but suggests to size up if you're between sizes.

Reviewing a company's long-term sales performance reveals insights into its quality. Any business can experience short-term success, but top-performing ones enjoy sustained growth for years. Over the last five years, Wolverine Worldwide's demand was weak and its revenue declined by 4.1% per year. This wasn't a great result and suggests it's a low quality business. We at StockStory place the most emphasis on long-term growth, but within consumer discretionary, a stretched historical view may miss a company riding a successful new product or trend. Wolverine Worldwide's recent performance shows its demand remained suppressed as its revenue has declined by 17.2% annually over the last two years. This quarter, Wolverine Worldwide reported modest year-on-year revenue growth of 4.4% but beat Wall Street's estimates by 4.1%. Company management is currently guiding for a 4.7% year-on-year increase in sales next quarter. Looking further ahead, sell-side analysts expect revenue to grow 3.1% over the next 12 months. Although this projection suggests its newer products and services will fuel better top-line performance, it is still below the sector average. Software is eating the world and there is virtually no industry left that has been untouched by it. That drives increasing demand for tools helping software developers do their jobs, whether it be monitoring critical cloud infrastructure, integrating audio and video functionality, or ensuring smooth content streaming. Think of it as net income - the bottom line - excluding the impact of taxes and interest on debt, which are less connected to business fundamentals. Wolverine Worldwide's operating margin has been trending up over the last 12 months, leading to break even profits over the last two years. However, its large expense base and inefficient cost structure mean it still sports inadequate profitability for a consumer discretionary business. In Q1, Wolverine Worldwide generated an operating profit margin of 4.8%, up 5.6 percentage points year on year. This increase was a welcome development and shows it was more efficient. We track the long-term change in earnings per share (EPS) for the same reason as long-term revenue growth. Compared to revenue, however, EPS highlights whether a company's growth is profitable. Sadly for Wolverine Worldwide, its EPS declined by 13.4% annually over the last five years, more than its revenue. This tells us the company struggled because its fixed cost base made it difficult to adjust to shrinking demand. In Q1, Wolverine Worldwide reported EPS at $0.18, up from $0.05 in the same quarter last year. This print easily cleared analysts' estimates, and shareholders should be content with the results. Over the next 12 months, Wall Street expects Wolverine Worldwide's full-year EPS of $1.05 to grow 6.7%. We were impressed by how significantly Wolverine Worldwide blew past analysts' EPS expectations this quarter. We were also excited its EBITDA outperformed Wall Street's estimates by a wide margin. On the other hand, its EPS guidance for next quarter missed. Overall, we think this was still a solid quarter with some key areas of upside. The stock traded up 4.7% to $15.51 immediately following the results. Indeed, Wolverine Worldwide had a rock-solid quarterly earnings result, but is this stock a good investment here? We think that the latest quarter is just one piece of the longer-term business quality puzzle. Quality, when combined with valuation, can help determine if the stock is a buy.
