Emergency personnel assisted in removing two people from their vehicles following a collision on Hwy. 101 near Exit 9 in Avonport, N.S., just before 12 p.m. Saturday.
Two people were injured and transported to hospital but there were no fatalities, said Deputy Chief Chad Schrader of the Wolfville Fire Department. He said one passenger from each vehicle was taken to hospital but could not comment on the extent of injuries because the collision is under investigation by the RCMP.
Schrader said a second collision occurred nearby while crews attended the scene, but no one was injured.
Hantsport Fire Department assisted in the cleanup while Greenwich fire crews remained on standby, said Schrader.
