Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to receive rains amidst unusual weather conditions

Strange weather patterns are currently affecting the Telugu states, with the sun shining alongside a slow progress of the monsoon. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a significant statement indicating that light to moderate rains are anticipated in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana due to the influence of a trough in the atmosphere. This trough, extending from Madhya Pradesh through Vidarbha to Telangana at an altitude of 0.9 km above mean sea level, is expected to bring rainfall. Additionally, a secondary trough has formed between 3.1 and 4.5 km above mean sea level, stretching from northern Tamil Nadu through interior Karnataka into southern Maharashtra. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has reported that the winds in Telangana are currently blowing from the west-northwest, enhancing the likelihood of moderate rain across the region. On Tuesday, residents in districts such as Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba, and Gadwal can expect light to moderate rain, along with thundershowers and gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph. In terms of temperature, Adilabad is predicted to see a maximum of 40.5 degrees Celsius, while Medak will experience a minimum of around 27.3 degrees Celsius. In Andhra Pradesh, the Amaravati Meteorological Centre has also forecasted light to moderate rain in several areas of Alluri, Annamaya, Chittoor, and Tirupati districts. In contrast, districts including Vizianagaram, Manyam, Alluri, Kakinada, Konaseema, Thugo, Pago, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, and Nellore are set to face scorching temperatures, with maximums ranging from 41 to 42.5 degrees Celsius. Ellundi is likely to record maximum temperatures between 40 to 41 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures rise in AP, Telangana amid slowdown of monsoon activity

The Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are currently experiencing unusual weather conditions, characterised by intense heat and occasional moderate rain. Residents are suffering from heat and heat-related illnesses, as temperatures—having recently dipped due to rain—are on the rise once more. Meteorological officials attribute the increase in temperatures, notably exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in many areas, to a slowdown in the monsoon and the impact of the Rohini Karte phenomenon. The Amaravati Meteorological Centre has warned that temperatures may reach highs of 41 degrees Celsius across several districts on Thursday. It is anticipated that maximum temperatures in Andhra Pradesh could increase by 2 to 3 degrees over the next two days. In particular, districts such as Vizianagaram, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Kakinada, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, and Krishna are expected to experience sweltering conditions, with maximum readings between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall is forecast for Bapatla and Palnadu districts. On Wednesday, Jangameshwarapur recorded the highest temperature at 41 degrees Celsius, with Narsapur close behind at 40.9 degrees. Other notable readings included Kavali and Nellore at 39.6 degrees, Tuni and Gannavaram at 39.4 degrees, Nandyal at 39 degrees, YSR Kadapa at 38.2 degrees, and Tirupati at 38 degrees each. In Telangana, conditions are similarly warm, as reported by the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre. The state is experiencing rising temperatures due to the slow progression of the southwest monsoon. Light rain with gusty winds up to 30 to 40 kilometres per hour is expected in some districts on Thursday and Friday. The forecast indicates that maximum temperatures could reach 38 degrees Celsius in Nalgonda and Bhadrachalam, while a minimum of 34 degrees is projected for Mahabubnagar.

Southwest monsoon to arrive today, AP to receive rains amid low pressure

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that this year's monsoon is expected to arrive six days earlier than last year's date of May 30, due to favourable conditions. The IMD has predicted above-normal rainfall, which is anticipated to benefit agricultural activities across the region. The IMD has also issued a warning regarding a low-pressure system forming in the Arabian Sea, which is likely to intensify into a depression. There are concerns that this system could eventually develop into a cyclone. Additionally, another low-pressure area is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal on the 27th of this month. Meteorologists have reported that the low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea will move northward and may strengthen into a depression by this evening. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has forecasted rainfall in Telangana over the next four days, urging residents to prepare for the possibility of gusty winds, which could reach speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour, along with lightning and thunder. In light of these developments, authorities in Telangana have issued a yellow alert in anticipation of the storms. The IMD has indicated that the Telugu states will experience significant rainfall during this period. Specifically, today's forecast for Telangana predicts a maximum temperature of 33.8 degrees in Adilabad and a minimum of 32 degrees in Nizamabad. Meanwhile, light rain accompanied by thunder is expected in several districts of Andhra Pradesh, including Alluri, Manyam, East Godavari, Konaseema, Kakinada, and Eluru.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana likely to receive rains for next three days

The summer season in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has unexpectedly transformed into a rainy spell, as heavy downpours and gusty winds concern local residents. The Meteorological Department has issued a significant update regarding the varied weather conditions across the Telugu states. In contrast to the sweltering heat experienced in some areas, rainstorms accompanied by strong winds are wreaking havoc in others. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has forecasted differing weather patterns for Telangana over the next three days, with maximum temperatures expected to be four degrees Celsius below the seasonal norm. A yellow alert has been activated for 14 districts in Telangana, indicating potential weather hazards. Light to moderate rainfall is anticipated to continue tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Amaravati Meteorological Centre has provided a rainfall forecast for Andhra Pradesh, predicting light showers accompanied by thundershowers and winds gusting at speeds of 40-50 km/h in various locations throughout the state today. Tomorrow, temperatures are expected to reach between 40°C and 42°C, with a predicted rise in intensity in the days that follow.
