This recognition by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences positions the festival on the global stage, offering filmmakers a direct pathway to one of the most prestigious awards in the industry. The festival, scheduled to take place from April 27th to May 2nd, 2025, revealed its official poster, designed by Alexandrian artist Abdelrahman Ahmed. Featuring imagery that merges cinema with the city's coastal heritage, the design reinforces Alexandria as both the festival's home and a source of artistic inspiration. Festival director Moni Mahmoud noted that this new affiliation with the Oscars elevates the competition, attracting submissions from over 2,000 films worldwide.
