City of Ionia needs your opinion on new rideshare service
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The City of Ionia needs your opinion on how you would use a new microtransit service that will come to the area later this year.
The service, called I-Go, will coexist with current and operate similarly to rideshare apps Uber and Lyft. Currently, Dial-A-Ride operates a fleet of nine vehicles, allowing patrons to call a ride and carpool with those heading to similar places and along similar routes.
Riders can request and pay for a ride with a mobile app, online ride, or by phone. Once booked, a rider can track their ride as it heads to the designated pickup location. Rides can be scheduled in real-time or in advance.
City officials say I-Go will expand Dial-A-Ride's service area and hours to fill gaps where transportation isn't currently available in Ionia County.
