Bird flu: Preventive measures implemented in Kanpur district

Kanpur: In Kanpur district , several preventive measures have been implemented to address Bird flu concerns. Chief veterinary officer of Kanpur district, Dr IDN Chaturvedi confirmed that the animal husbandry department dispatched 200 surveillance samples to IVRI Izatnagar, Bareilly through a special carrier, comprising 30 from urban and 80 from rural areas. Currently, 13 RRT teams are operational, with 10 teams in rural areas and 3 in urban areas. No unusual bird mortalities or concerning situations were identified. The health department obtained 88 human serum samples and 8 surveillance serum samples for testing at Kanpur Zoo, including samples from 1 deputy chief veterinary officer, 2 veterinary officers and forest officers on May 17 and May 18. District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh has made d 11 administrative teams, supervised by 7 additional city magistrates to effectively manage Avian Influenza . These teams, comprising assistant police commissioner, municipal corporation and animal husbandry department staff are implementing necessary measures. The additional police commissioner, Kanpur Nagar, provided written confirmation of comprehensive arrangements for required actions.
