Italian company unveils reusable space rockets

ALBAWABA – Avio, an Italian leader in space propulsion, has unveiled a new project to develop reusable space rockets. Also Read SpaceX's Starship explodes during test launch IFD1 reusable space rockets
Avio announced the launch of its new IFD1 project, focused on developing reusable space rockets. The company stated that it will begin testing its new single-stage, reusable rocket prototype in the third quarter of 2025.
Notably, the IFD1 prototype will feature a methane-fueled MR10 engine. The company aims to replace its current Vega E rockets with this new technology.
Avio is applying its technologies and expertise to this new project, being one of Europe's oldest companies in the space industry. It also contributes to the development of space rockets used by the European Space Agency to launch vehicles and satellites into Earth's new IFD1 reusable space rocket project will be funded by the Italian government, as Avio secured a total of $194.51 million in funding. The company has dedicated this amount to developing its IFD1 reusable space rockets, Vega E rockets, and Vega Next rockets.
