Technical director issues Celtic demand over Gustaf Lagerbielke

The 24-year-old defender is currently on loan at the Dutch club and is keen to make the move permanent. However, he still has three years remaining on his contract at Celtic. He arrived in the summer of 2023 from IF Elfsporg with Brendan Rodgers splashing out £3m to secure his signature but the move hasn't worked out. Twente's technical director, Arnold Bruggink, has claimed that the Hoops are asking for too much money to make the deal permanent. He said: "In this case, we are dependent on what Celtic want. "They are asking for quite a bit of money. "He is a very stable defender. "We would like to make the deal permanent, but I think it is not very realistic at the moment." It remains to be seen if Lagerbielke will have a future at Celtic upon his return to Glasgow at the end of the season. The Swedish international cost the club £3 million when he signed from Elfsborg in his homeland two years ago. However, he made only four league starts before heading to the Netherlands on loan.
