Do Its Financials Have Any Role To Play In Driving IVE Group Limited's (ASX:IGL) Stock Up Recently?

IVE Group (ASX:IGL) has had a great run on the share market with its stock up by a significant 20% over the last three months. We wonder if and what role the company's financials play in that price change as a company's long-term fundamentals usually dictate market outcomes. In this article, we decided to focus on IVE Group's ROE. Return on equity or ROE is an important factor to be considered by a shareholder because it tells them how effectively their capital is being reinvested. In other words, it is a profitability ratio which measures the rate of return on the capital provided by the company's shareholders. We've found 21 US stocks that are forecast to pay a dividend yield of over 6% next year. See the full list for free. ROE can be calculated by using the formula: Return on Equity = Net Profit (from continuing operations) ÷ Shareholders' Equity So, based on the above formula, the ROE for IVE Group is: 20% = AU$42m ÷ AU$209m (Based on the trailing twelve months to December 2024). The 'return' is the yearly profit. Another way to think of that is that for every A$1 worth of equity, the company was able to earn A$0.20 in profit. View our latest analysis for IVE Group So far, we've learned that ROE is a measure of a company's profitability. Based on how much of its profits the company chooses to reinvest or "retain", we are then able to evaluate a company's future ability to generate profits. Assuming all else is equal, companies that have both a higher return on equity and higher profit retention are usually the ones that have a higher growth rate when compared to companies that don't have the same features. To begin with, IVE Group seems to have a respectable ROE. On comparing with the average industry ROE of 3.9% the company's ROE looks pretty remarkable. Probably as a result of this, IVE Group was able to see an impressive net income growth of 29% over the last five years. We believe that there might also be other aspects that are positively influencing the company's earnings growth. For example, it is possible that the company's management has made some good strategic decisions, or that the company has a low payout ratio. Next, on comparing IVE Group's net income growth with the industry, we found that the company's reported growth is similar to the industry average growth rate of 27% over the last few years. Earnings growth is an important metric to consider when valuing a stock. The investor should try to establish if the expected growth or decline in earnings, whichever the case may be, is priced in. This then helps them determine if the stock is placed for a bright or bleak future. One good indicator of expected earnings growth is the P/E ratio which determines the price the market is willing to pay for a stock based on its earnings prospects. So, you may want to check if IVE Group is trading on a high P/E or a low P/E, relative to its industry. The really high three-year median payout ratio of 103% for IVE Group suggests that the company is paying its shareholders more than what it is earning. In spite of this, the company was able to grow its earnings significantly, as we saw above. Although, it could be worth keeping an eye on the high payout ratio as that's a huge risk. You can see the 2 risks we have identified for IVE Group by visiting our risks dashboard for free on our platform here. Moreover, IVE Group is determined to keep sharing its profits with shareholders which we infer from its long history of nine years of paying a dividend. Existing analyst estimates suggest that the company's future payout ratio is expected to drop to 50% over the next three years. Despite the lower expected payout ratio, the company's ROE is not expected to change by much. In total, it does look like IVE Group has some positive aspects to its business. Especially the growth in earnings which was backed by an impressive ROE. Still, the high ROE could have been even more beneficial to investors had the company been reinvesting more of its profits. As highlighted earlier, the current reinvestment rate appears to be negligible. Having said that, the company's earnings growth is expected to slow down, as forecasted in the current analyst estimates. Illegal liquor operation busted in Bijnor, 3 held

Bijnor: In a coordinated operation, the Noida STF and Bijnor police raided a roadside eatery on the Haridwar-Kashipur highway under the Rehar police station, uncovering a major illegal ethanol and liquor distribution network. During the operation on Thursday night, the team seized a tanker containing 20,000 litres of ethanol, along with 760 litres of illicit liquor stored in 19 cans. Three cars were also confiscated at the site. Authorities arrested Sunil Kumar, Ram Singh, and Guddu. The eatery is owned by Liaqat Hussain, a resident of Jaspur in Uttarakhand, and was leased to Sunil, who has a previous record of involvement in unlawful activities, said police. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had been stealing ethanol from the IGL company plant in Kashipur. The stolen ethanol, meant for pharmaceutical companies, was being diverted for illegal liquor production. Based on a complaint by UP STF Inspector Sachin Kumar, a case was registered against four additional suspects identified as Sukhvinder alias Sethi, Bhup Singh, a loading worker at IGL, and two other unidentified individuals under BNS sections 3(5) (common intention), 303(2) (theft), 317(2) (receiving or retaining stolen property), 274 (adulteration), 275 (selling or offering for sale noxious food or drink), and sections 60 and 72 of the Excise Act. Bijnor SP Abhishek Jha said that during interrogation, it was revealed that Guddu is a container driver with New Dashmesh Transport Company. Along with Bhup Singh, Guddu had been getting the vehicle filled with extra ethanol. He would then deliver the ethanol to Ram Singh. Ram Singh supplied the ethanol to Sukhwinder, and in return, received his share of the money and handed it over to Guddu and Sunil. Sukhwinder then adulterated the ethanol to make poisonous liquor, which he sold under various brand names. Two other drivers from New Dashmesh Transport Company are also involved in similar ethanol theft operations. Authorities have received information about adulterated liquor and packing material stored at several of Sukhwinder's hideouts, and necessary actions are being taken.

Piped natural gas supply inaugurated in 111 Delhi villages

New Delhi: Lieutenant governor V K Saxena and chief minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated piped natural gas (PNG) supply by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) to 111 villages. With this, the number of villages connected by PNG has gone up to 241. Saxena said the initiative was not merely a technical project, but a solid foundation for a cleaner future. "It not only connects rural areas with clean, safe and affordable energy, but also marks a significant step towards making Delhi an environmentally-friendly and sustainable capital. It resonates with the spirit of Delhi Gramoday Abhiyan, which aims to equip villages with urban-level infrastructure and ensure holistic and balanced development," he said. Calling it "A Flame of Trust", Gupta described the launch as a beacon of clean energy reaching the heart of rural Delhi. "It is the ignition of a new era — one that brings security, dignity and sustainable growth into every household," she said. With 130 villages already covered in Phase I and 111 more joining Thursday, CM pledged to connect the remaining 116 villages by the yearend. "Nobody thought there would be a 24-hour supply of piped gas. Urban areas had started getting access to piped gas supply, but it was not available in rural areas. It was on PM Narendra Modi's call that this was made possible. There are 116 villages still left, where piped natural gas will be made accessible by Dec-end," Gupta said. LG and CM also interacted virtually with PNG users across four villages of Delhi, apart from handing over PNG connections to 10 users physically on the occasion. Gupta later chaired a high-level review meeting with officials of the industries department. She said the discussion focused on the needs of traders and industrialists, the future prospects of industrial growth, and govt initiatives to elevate Delhi's status in the fields of trade and industry. Cabinet minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa was also present at the meeting. Following the meeting, CM announced the formation of a Trader Welfare Board to safeguard the interests of traders. The board will ensure swift redressal of issues faced by the business community, implement welfare schemes, and push for policy reforms that ease the process of doing business. The initiative will establish a robust support system for Delhi's traders and act as a bridge between govt and the trading community by conveying their suggestions and concerns directly to policymakers.

Delhi L-G, CM inaugurate PNG supply to 111 villages

Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Thursday inaugurated the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) to 111 villages in Delhi, taking the total number of villages connected by PNG to 241. The event was also attended by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. 'Today's launch of PNG supply to 111 villages is not merely a technical project, but a solid foundation for a cleaner and brighter future. This initiative not only connects rural areas with clean, safe, and affordable energy, but also marks a significant step towards making Delhi an environmentally friendly and sustainable Capital,' said Saxena. Saxena hit out at the previous government, accusing it of not ensuring facilities to villages and praised the BJP dispensation for being inclined towards the development of the Capital. 'The previous government did not have the will to ensure that facilities reach villages. Perhaps it was part of their politics. The ministers of this government are working 24X7 for people,' he said. This resonates with the spirit of the 'Delhi Gramoday Abhiyan', which aims to equip villages with urban-level infrastructure and ensure holistic and balanced development, he added. Calling it 'A Flame Of Trust,' Gupta described the launch as a beacon of clean energy reaching the heart of rural Delhi. 'This is not merely the inauguration of a facility, but the ignition of a new era — one that brings security, dignity, and sustainable growth into every household,' she said. With 130 villages already covered in Phase I, and 111 villages joining on Thursday, Gupta pledged to connect the remaining 116 villages by year-end.
