New Malaysian movie channel 'Enjoy TV5' to launch on May 10

Enjoy TV5, Malaysia's only television channel dedicated exclusively to movies and entertainment, will officially begin broadcasting this Saturday (May 10).
Viewers can catch the channel via the national free-to-air digital platform MYTV on Channel 105 (CH105) from midnight.
The launch of the 'TV5 Free-to-Air Digital Movie Channel' was officiated by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil at the Pavilion shopping centre in Bukit Bintang here today.
Also present were TV5 Founder and Chairman Datin Yoko Chou and MYTV Group chief executive officer Helmi Harith.
At a press conference after the launch, Fahmi said discussions are underway to expand MYTV's broadcast reach to the Asean region, pending several regulatory processes with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
He also revealed that plans are in motion to introduce a MYTV app that would feature both TV and radio content, accessible through Infotainment Head Units (IHU) in locally manufactured or assembled cars.
"This is part of ongoing discussions between Commercial Radio Malaysia (CRM) and MYTV, and I fully support the initiative as it presents an excellent opportunity to provide content to vehicles equipped with IHUs,' he said.
Fahmi also said that MYTV and TV5 have been granted a one-year incentive period, with a three-year broadcasting licence, subject to MCMC conditions. – Bernama
