Man accused of fleeing from St. James Parish deputy arrested, facing drug charges

ST. JAMES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A man is facing drug charges after he allegedly fled from a deputy in St. James Parish on Sunday, April 27. The St. James Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were patrolling near East Railroad and South Mullberry streets when they tried to talk with three men, two of which reportedly walked away from the area. 'Disturbing' new details uncovered in Bella Fontenelle homicide trial St. James Parish deputies said the third man walked toward the deputy's vehicle and allegedly threw items out of his pockets and ran as the deputy got out. According to the sheriff's office, deputies recovered the items, allegedly including a dollar bill with suspected methamphetamine, two cell phones and a wallet with identification belonging to 28-year-old Kobye Kwan Robinson. Deputies said Robinson also allegedly had suspected marijuana and 'items consistent with the packaging and distribution of narcotics.' Robinson was found near South Airline Avenue.
