Tenders soon for Guntur Inner Ring Road Phase III
GUNTUR: The long-pending third phase of Guntur's Inner Ring Road (IRR) project is finally progressing after years of delay. Stalled during the previous YSRCP government, the IIR project has gained fresh momentum under the current coalition government, promising to ease Guntur's growing traffic congestion and boost regional connectivity. The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) is preparing to invite tenders for constructing the 4.5-kilometre stretch from Swarnabharathi Nagar to Palakaluru, at an estimated cost of around Rs 48 to Rs 50 crore. This phase will complete the 11-kilometre four-lane highway originally planned in 2005 by the Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority (VGTM UDA). The road is designed to connect Perecherla in western Guntur to National Highway-65 near Autonagar, allowing heavy vehicles from Palnadu district to bypass the city centre. The first two phases, covering nearly 6.7 km, were completed between 2010 and 2018, but land acquisition challenges and compensation claims delayed the final phase. With the region now under CRDA's jurisdiction following Amaravati's capital status, authorities recently resolved several land disputes. Compensation amounting to Rs 6.35 crore has been disbursed to displaced families, and monthly allowances of Rs 10,000 are provided to affected landowners. Efforts to clear structural damage claims are ongoing.

Nigeria's Dangote oil refinery cancels June maintenance at gasoline unit: IIR
Nigeria's Dangote oil refinery has cancelled June maintenance at its 204,000 barrels per day (bpd) gasoline-making unit as it completed planned works during an unplanned shutdown from April 7 to May 11, according to industry monitor IIR. During the unplanned outage, the Dangote refinery increased exports of residual products such as straight run fuel oil, while exports of finished products such as jet fuel and gasoil dropped, according to shipping trade analytics firm Kpler. Nigeria's gasoline imports rose by 24% on the month in April to 157,000 bpd, Kpler data show. Dangote had initially planned to shut its gasoline-making residue fluid catalytic cracking (RFCC) unit for 30-day maintenance in June. The 650,000 bpd refinery built by Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote in Lagos began processing crude into products, including gas oil, naphtha and jet fuel, in January 2024 and started producing gasoline in September. The Dangote refinery did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Dangote refinery cancels June maintenance plan for gasoline section
Nigeria's Dangote Oil Refinery has reportedly cancelled planned maintenance on its 204,000 barrels-per-day gasoline-producing unit for June. Dangote Oil Refinery canceled planned June maintenance after conducting necessary work during an unplanned shutdown. The refinery commenced production of diesel, naphtha, jet fuel, and gasoline in phases since January last year. Economists forecast the refinery's operations may significantly disrupt European-Africa gasoline trade valued at $17 billion annually. Nigeria's Dangote Oil Refinery has reportedly cancelled planned maintenance on its 204,000 barrels-per-day gasoline-producing unit for June, having carried out the necessary work during an unplanned shutdown from April 7 to May 11, according to industry tracker IIR. Dangote Refinery had originally scheduled a 30-day maintenance shutdown in June for its gasoline-producing Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) unit. The refinery has since pushed back on reports of the unit being under unplanned repair, stating that such claims are not entirely accurate. According to data from shipping analytics firm Kpler, during the unplanned outage, the refinery ramped up exports of residual products such as straight run fuel oil, while shipments of finished fuels like jet fuel and gasoil declined. Dangote refinery The 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery, built by Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, began producing diesel, naphtha, and jet fuel in January last year, followed by petrol production in September. The refinery aims to compete with European suppliers, though it has faced challenges in securing enough crude locally. According to the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Dangote's oil push in Nigeria is already starting to disrupt the European oil market.

Nigeria's Dangote oil refinery issues tender to sell fuel oil, document summary shows
March 25 (Reuters) - Nigeria's Dangote oil refinery issued a tender on Tuesday to sell 128,000 metric tons of residual fuel oil in April, according to a summary of the tender document shared by a market source. The 650,000 barrel per day (bpd) Dangote refinery will close the tender on Wednesday at 1200 GMT, as it seeks buyers for 88,000 tons of low sulphur straight run fuel oil and 40,000 tons of slurry oil for loading on April 10-12, the summary showed. The refinery did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Dangote will shut its 204,000 barrel-per-day gasoline-making unit for 30 days for maintenance tentatively expected to start on June 1, according to industry monitor IIR. Straight run fuel oil is a feedstock processed through secondary refining units and turned into products like gasoline and diesel. Dangote's fuel oil exports averaged 75,000 bpd over the period from March to August 2024, but dropped to 20,000 bpd from September, according to shipping data analytics firm Kpler, when its gasoline-making residue fluidized catalytic cracking unit started production.
