Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) has opened the objection submission window for the aptitude test 2025 (Hindi and English) answer key on the official website Applicants can submit suggestions, if any, till June 1 up to 5.00 pm. A fee of Rs 100 per suggestion is applicable. There is no upper limit on the number of objections that can be filed. Remember that for each objection, candidates have to make a separate application and pay an amount of Rs 100, reads the notification. The computer-based test was conducted on May 25, 2025. Candidates who appeared for the examination on May 25, 2025, can now review the answer key on the official website: To ensure transparency and address any discrepancies, IISER has opened an objection window. Candidates can submit their challenges to the provisional answer key from 5:00 PM on May 29, 2025, until 5:00 PM on June 1, 2025. IISER IAT objection submission process Candidates who identify discrepancies in the provisional answer key can raise objections online until 5:00 PM on June 1, 2025. To submit objections: Log in to the IISER admission portal using your registration number or application number and password. Access your response sheet and compare it with the provisional answer key. Select the question(s) you wish to challenge and provide a detailed explanation along with supporting documents. Upload supporting files in jpg, jpeg, png, or pdf format, ensuring each file is within the 400KB size limit. Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 100 per question challenged. IISER's Prof Sujit Ghosh awarded Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Prize
Professor Sujit Ghosh from the Department of Chemistry at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, has been awarded the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Prize by Germany's Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. This recognition is awarded to distinguished scientists and scholars every year in recognition of outstanding research contributions. The prize is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany. and is named after Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel (1784–1846), a prominent German astronomer and mathematician. Key selection criteria for the prize include: excellent scientific achievements that have already shaped the scientific field and reasonable prospect of future outstanding top performance with appeal beyond a narrow field of expertise, among others. The award carries prize money and enables collaborative research projects at German research institutions. Ghosh will be visiting the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in Germany for collaborative research as part of this prize. Ghosh's research group is working on the development and functional studies of various advanced porous materials like Metal-organic Frameworks (MOFs), Metal-organic Polyhedra (MOPs), Porous organic polymers (POPs), Hydrogen-bonded Organic Frameworks (HOFs), Nano-composites of porous materials etc. for chemical industry, energy, and environmental applications.

IIT Madras launches courses in chemistry, EVs
IIT-M has launched undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the 2025–26 academic year, including a BS in chemistry and an MTech in electric vehicles , aimed at preparing students for industry and research leadership. Admissions to the new BS chemistry programme will be through the IISER aptitude test, while the MTech in electric vehicles will admit students via GATE. Two new BTech programmes computational engineering and mechanics (CEM) and instrumentation and biomedical engineering (iBME) have also been introduced under JEE. The institute has also operationalized two inclusive admission routes: sports excellence admission (SEA) and fine arts and culture excellence (FACE). Each BTech and BS programme will reserve two seats under these categories one gender-neutral and one for woman candidates. 'These new courses reflect both the aspirations of students and the evolving needs of industry and academia,' said Prof. Prathap Haridoss, dean (academic courses). All programmes include interdisciplinary learning, options for dual degrees, and industry-linked internships. The MTech focuses on hands-on learning for 2W, 3W, and commercial e-mobility, while iBME targets innovation in AI-driven healthcare.
