IIT BHU Reshuffles 111 Seats Across Various BTech Courses, Check New Seat Matrix
Last Updated: IIT BHU will maintain a total of 1,589 seats for first-year students, the same as the previous year. However, to meet the increasing demand, the IIT has redistributed them. The Indian Institute of Technology Banaras Hindu University or IIT BHU, has expanded the number of seats in some of its most popular departments for students selected through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). In the academic session 2025-26, the institute will maintain a total of 1,589 seats for first-year students, the same as the previous year. However, to meet the increasing demand for JEE seats, IIT has redistributed them. Specifically, 111 seats have been transferred from four departments – Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology – to nine more sought-after departments. The departments benefiting from the increased seats include Chemical Engineering, which now has 170 seats, up from 156. Civil Engineering has 160 seats, compared to the previous 150. Computer Science and Engineering saw an increase of 22 seats, bringing the total to 155. Similarly, Electronics Engineering also added 22 seats, totaling 155. Other departments like Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, and Engineering Physics have also seen an increase of over 10 seats. IIT BHU New Seat Matrix Th eJoint Seat Allocation Authority Counseling 2025 commenced the IIT admission process on June 3, 2025. The JoSAA Counseling 2025 will be conducted in six rounds up till June 12. This includes seat allocation, document verification and fee payment, etc. If seats remain vacant even after JoSAA counseling, then the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct additional rounds. JoSAA provides a single online platform for admission to 121 institutes, which include 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, IIEST Shibpur and 40 other GFTIs. Allcargo Logistics appoints Ravi Jhakar as CFO
Allcargo Logistics said that its board has appointed Ravi Jakhar as the chief financial officer (CFO) with effect from 19 May 2025. Deepal Shah has resigned from the position of CFO with effect from closing business hours of 16th May 2025. Ravi Jhakar currently serving as designated as Chief Strategy Officer and further, he will be re-designated as director strategy & group CFO. Ravi Jhakar has pursued from IIT BHU and attended a course on entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School. He currently leads the overall strategy for the Allcargo Group and also oversees the finance and business functions on behalf of the board in Allcargos flagship international business ECU Worldwide. He oversees the Latin America region alongside various Joint Ventures the group in Scandinavia, Thailand, Turkey, Peru. He manages the equity fund raising activities for the group, Investor Relationship management and led some of the M&A for the group, like Nordicon, FairTrade, few others. He is on the board of Allcargo Gati, Allcargo Supply Chain and various subsidiaries across the world. Allcargo Logistics, an Allcargo Group company, it is the global market leader in less than container load (LCL) consolidation business operating under ECU Worldwide network. The companys consolidated net profit declined 11.5% to Rs 9.69 crore despite of a 27.8% jump in net sales to Rs 4105.74 crore in Q3 FY25 over Q3 FY24. The counter rallied 3.43% to end at Rs 31.02 on the BSE.
