Jump Scare! Kanye West Makes Shocking First Appearance In ‘The Kardashians' Since His Divorce From Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian is fully embracing her newest role as 'momager' in the latest episode of The Kardashians. Not only is she supporting her daughter North West ahead of her now-viral Hollywood Bowl performance, but she's also keeping the peace with her ex-husband Kanye 'Ye' West, who makes a surprising first appearance in the family's Hulu reality series. In the episode, titled 'I Just Can't Wait to Be King,' Kardashian debates whether she should allow North, then 10, to accept an offer to perform at the Hollywood Bowl for the 30th anniversary of Disney's The Lion King. Ultimately, the Skims founder gives into her eldest daughter's dreams — and she knows very well what the public will think, noting that North is a 'rapper' like her dad and not a 'singer.' 'I already know what's coming — the 'she's not Whitney Houston.' Duh. I know she got the job because of her parents,' Kardashian says. 'North is the moment. They want to see North West on a TikTok, on a this, on an anything, because she's a personality, a performer. And if anyone wants to hate on a child that is having the time of their lives, fuck you.' What's more shocking than North snagging such a big role with little musical theatre experience, however, is her dad Kanye's brief appearance in the episode, marking the first time he's been on reality television since the final season of E!'s Keeping up with the Kardashians back in 2021. 'Hey, what's up guys?' Kanye says as he enters North's dressing room. Kardashian, who filed for divorce from the controversial rapper in 2021, addresses her ex's shocking cameo in her confessional. '[North's] dad has been involved,' she tells the cameras. 'And he came to the rehearsal and he's like, 'Can we change the graphics to The Lion King.' I'm like, 'Of course. Of course.' I just look at them like, 'It will be a better production.'' The businesswoman adds, 'Kanye and I want the best for the kids and so anytime we're here supporting our child, it's always good vibes.' The former couple shares a short exchange following North's performance when Kanye asks Kardashian for her thoughts. 'I was just crying from the side. I don't know,' the 'proud' mom says, before instructing her other kids to go with their father. Kanye's reemergence in The Kardashians universe is coming at an interesting time for the rapper, who turned heads on the Grammy's red carpet earlier this month when his wife Bianca Censori took off a fur coat to reveal a completely sheer dress with nothing underneath. He then went on a three-day social media tirade with racist, antisemitic, misogynistic remarks that ultimately got his X (formerly known as Twitter) account deactivated by Elon Musk. New episodes of The Kardashians drop on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. PT and Thursdays at midnight ET on Hulu.

Kim Kardashian Has 2 Words For Critics Of North West's Singing Performance
Kim Kardashian has no time for anyone trying to dampen her daughter's spirit. The Skims founder decried critics of North West's performance in 'The Lion King' during an episode of 'The Kardashians' that aired on Thursday. The then-10-year-old performed in the live-action play at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles last May, singing 'I Just Can't Wait to Be King.' 'I already know what's coming, you know, that she's not Whitney Houston,' Kardashian said in a confessional as North rehearsed her role onstage. 'Duh!' the mom of four said to the camera before mimicking people who would inevitably say, 'She got the job because of her parents.' 'North is the moment,' Kardashian said matter-of-factly. 'They wanna see North West on a TikTok, on a this, on a anything. Because she's a personality ― a performer. And if anyone wants to hate on a child that is having the time of their lives... fuck you.' People did inevitably come for North's performance and nepo-baby casting, with talk show host and comedian Rosie O'Donnell calling it 'tragic on every level' at the time. The singer and screenwriter Nick Atkinson shared a similar message on Instagram. 'Any performer or parent of a young performer who has spent years training in acting, dance and singing,' he said, 'is allowed to be really really deeply offended by this casting choice.' Kim Kardashian Finally Responded To People Who Said That North West Only Got Her Divisive 'Lion King' Singing Gig Because Her Parents Are Famous
You might recall that last year, North West — daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye 'Ye' West — took to the stage at the Hollywood Bowl to perform a rendition of 'I Just Can't Wait to Be King' at Disney's special The Lion King event. The two-day live concert was held in celebration of the film's 30th anniversary and featured performances by original cast members Jeremy Irons and Nathan Lane, as well as special guest Jennifer Hudson. Unfortunately, North's performance was widely criticized by internet users, with several people arguing that the 11-year-old got the gig because of her parents' status. One person tweeted at the time, 'I'm not trying to hate on a child, but this is why nepotism doesn't always work… you can't fake talent.' Others wrote, 'Nepotism at its finest.' Kim remained silent at the time, though in this week's installment of The Kardashians, we've finally learned how she really felt amid the criticism. The episode starts out with Kim admitting that she was super hesitant about letting North perform at the Hollywood Bowl, admitting that her daughter is 'not a singer.' Disney+ 'I'm really torn on if I should let her do this or not,' she says in a confessional. 'North is very comfortable performing, but she's not a singer, you know; she raps. I mean, she's been on stage with her dad for sure, but as a mom, especially putting her child on a platform for a lot of opinions, it's something to really, really, really think about.' Disney+ Kim then reveals that she discussed the subject with her ex-husband Ye, who said that it sounded 'cool.' They then had a 'family discussion' with North, who was immediately keen to do the gig. Later on in the episode, Kim directly addresses the widespread scrutiny that North's performance garnered. Disney+ 'I already know what's coming, you know, 'She's not Whitney Houston.' Duh!' she says. ''She got the job because of her parents.' North is the moment. They wanna see North West on a anything, because she's a personality, a performer.' Disney+ 'And if anyone wants to hate on a child, that is having the time of their lives… Fuck you,' she adds. Disney+ LMK what you think of Kim's response in the comments. Meanwhile, you can stream this episode of The Kardashians now on Hulu or Disney+.
