Everything we know about the newly announced James Bond game 007 First Light

(Image via IO Interactive) After years of anticipation, finally, the key details about the upcoming James Bond game 007 First Light have been revealed by IO Interactive. The details promise a fresh take on the legendary spy, allowing the players to witness 007's birth. While a full glimpse will arrive imminently, setting the stage for the bold new chapter, here is all we know about the promised project for now. 007 First Light official reveal and first look confirmed IO Interactive has finally pulled back the curtain and named the long-awaited project 007 First Light. The teaser image revealed the shadowy figure, which is presumed to be Bond, holding the Walther PPK, hinting at the grittier and much more tactical take on the character. Additionally, the Earn The Number tagline further reinforces the angle of the origin story and Bond's early career, where the players will expectedly witness Bond rising to become the 00 agent and getting a license to kill. While the game's official description confirms the original Bond origin story, there is expected to be no rehashing of the existing films. Instead, there will be a fresh narrative and quite possibly a setup of a trilogy. The full reveal of the game is expected during the Summer Game Fest, featuring some never-before-seen gameplay and interesting insights into the Bond era. Beyond that, IO has also confirmed that the game will use a powerful Glacier Engine. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cặp EUR/USD: Đà Tăng? Potential gameplay story details and more While the specific mechanics are under wraps, Earn The Number premise does offer some strong clues. Fans can expect the narrative-driven experience—the transformation of Bond into the deadliest agent of MI6. The expertise of IO Interactive with First Light and Hitman suggests that the game would likely emphasize strategic takedowns, stealth, and open-ended mission designs. However, the signature action of Bond—explosive shootouts, espionage, and high-speed chases expectedly will also play an important role, taking players to navigate the high-stakes mission that needs resourcefulness, lethal precision, and a bit of cunning. CEO Hakan Abrak emphasized that Bond is ' built from the ground up for gamers " and is designed for the players to call their own and even grow with them. Such emphasis on the original narrative will allow IO Interactive creative freedom while navigating the core tenets of Bond-exotic locations, formidable villains, high-octane set pieces, and more. The Glacier Engine further promises a visually immersive experience. 007 First Light developmental journey and ambitions ahead The game was announced back in late 2020. It was originally revealed under the codename Project 007, and the details have remained scarce for years. IO Interactive steadily built the needed anticipation by confirming some key hires like Rodrigo Santoro, the former Ubisoft veteran, as their Missions Director. The studio consistently emphasized its commitment to crafting the authentic and ground-up Bond experience that's distinct from films. Significantly, IO Interactive envisions 007 First Light as the launchpad for the potential trilogy. Abrak explicitly stated that he hopes the origin story can blossom in the major saga. While the recent acquisition of Bond IP by Amazon MGM Studios adds a new dynamic, IO Interactive seems to be deeply invested in establishing the definitive version of 007 for the gaming world. Currently, the imminent reveal marks the true beginning of the ambitious mission.

Bitcoin Ordinals Can Now Be Bridged to Cardano Through BitVMX

Cardano has continued to advance its credentials as a venue for Bitcoin Defi (BTCFi), facilitating a transfer of Ordinals to its mainnet. The on-chain transaction between Bitcoin and Cardano was facilitated by BitVMX, an interoperability protocol built using the BitVM programming language. The transaction was unveiled by Input | Output (IO), the creator of the layer 1 Cardano, at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas on Tuesday. The bridge represents a "preview of what is to come," IO said in an emailed announcement. Its ultimate aim is a full integration between Bitcoin and Cardano, providing DeFi services for BTC users and unlocking huge amounts of liquidity from the value stored in bitcoin. To this end, IO has developed the "Cardinal" protocol, a portmanteau of Cardano and Ordinals, which harnesses BitVMX to assign Bitcoin-native assets to addresses on Cardano. The Ordinals protocol was introduced at the start of 2023, enabling the inscription of data onto individual satoshis (the smallest BTC denomination, equivalent to one 100 millionth of a bitcoin), this making them unique and traceable. In effect, this created a Bitcoin equivalent of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Dahod court grants bail to minister's sons in MNREGA scam

Vadodara: The Dahod chief judicial magistrate's court on Wednesday granted bail to Balwant Khabad and Kiran Khabad, sons of minister of state for agriculture and panchayat Bachu Khabad, in connection with the ongoing MNREGA scam. However, the court is expected to deliver the final verdict on Thursday after considering additional material presented by the investigating officer (IO). Balwant and Kiran, linked to two firms that supplied materials for MNREGA works without securing official contracts, were arrested on May 17 and May 19 respectively. Both were remanded to judicial custody before filing their bail applications last week. While the court granted bail on Wednesday, the IO requested more time to submit further evidence. The hearing will continue on Thursday before the court issues its final decision. The scam, unearthed in a probe by District Rural Development Authority (DRDA), involved illegible firms being given orders for the supply of materials for MNREGA works.

Who is Jony Ive? Designer of iconic iPhone, iPad, AirPods, and Steve Jobs' confidant, joins Sam Altman's OpenAI

Jony Ive, the mastermind behind the iconic design of Apple's iPhone, has joined Sam Altman's OpenAI to create devices tailored for using generative artificial intelligence, as per a statement by the ChatGPT maker. Jony Ive and his team will take over design at OpenAI as part of an acquisition of his startup named 'IO' valued at $6.5 billion. As Ive ventures into a new future, having quit Apple two years ago, here is everything you need to know about him. British-born Jony Ive had been an Apple employee since 1992, and joined the US company after he graduated from Newcastle Polytechnic, now Northumbria University, in the UK. He began his career by starting his own design firm named Tangerine , according to the eponymous biography of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. Ives' company struck a deal with Apple, following which he moved to Cupertino, California, from London to work in the company's design department. He quickly moved ranks in Apple, thanks to his skills, and soon became the head of the department in 1996. Ives stayed at Apple until nearly a decade after Steve Jobs' death, during which time he oversaw the development of the brand's now legendary products, from the iMac and AirPods to the iPod, iPhone, and Apple Watch. He left the company in 2019 to start his own company called LoveForm. Working closely with Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, his designs revitalised Apple, making it the company with the world's third-largest market capitalisation and a global standard for product design. When Jony Ive joined Apple, the company had ousted its founder Steve Jobs and the CEO at that time was Gil Amelio. Under his leadership, Ive wanted to quit, according to the biography of Steve Jobs. At that time, the iPhone designer felt that Apple was focusing too much on profits, and its designers were being asked to generate models for the outside of products, while the engineers were using cheap materials to build the insides of them. However, this outlook changed when Steve Jobs returned as Apple CEO in 1997. In one of his first talks with employees, Ive remembered him saying that he wanted the company 'not just to make money but to make great products.' This idea changed Ive's mind, and he decided to stay back. Over the years, Steve Jobs and Ive developed a special bond. The Apple founder was deeply impressed with the designer's work. 'He gets the big picture as well as the most infinitesimal details about each product. And he understands that Apple is a product company. He's not just a designer,' Isaacson wrote in the biography.

Amend TNPID Act, allow IOs attach properties in financial fraud cases: Madras High Court

MADURAI: Observing that District Revenue Officers (DROs), who are authorised to file attachment applications, are overburdened resulting in delay in attaching and selling properties of accused persons in financial fraud cases, the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court has directed the state government to take steps to amend the relevant provisions of the Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors (TNPID) Act, 1997, delegating the power to investigating officers. Justice B Pugalendhi gave the direction while hearing a batch of petitions filed by some of the victims in a case registered by Economic Offences Wing, Madurai, against Apsal India Pvt Ltd and its sister concerns, which allegedly lured depositors promising high returns but cheated them. The petitioners alleged delay in the investigation and sought to speed up the same or transfer the probe to some other agency. The judge pointed out that in cases of the above nature, if the government is satisfied that a financial establishment is not likely to return the deposits, the designated officers under TNPID Act, namely the DROs, can pass an interim order of attachment attaching the money or other properties of such financial establishments and later file an application before the Special Court within 30 days to make the attachment order absolute. They can also seek a direction to sell the attached properties through public auction so that the amount could be returned to the victims. However, since DROs are already overburdened with other works, there is a delay in filing attachment applications, the judge noted and gave the above direction to enable the investigating officers to file the applications directly. Justice Pugalendhi further recalled that in 2020, the court had appointed a committee under a retired HC judge to ensure the deposits are returned to the victims. But the chairman of the committee recused himself from the post in 2023 citing non-cooperation by the company. While explaining the delay in investigation, the investigation officer (IO) contended that based on the court's direction, EOW had been only assisting the committee all these years and after the chairperson's recusal, they have sought a clarification from the court on further course of action. Rejecting this as a lame excuse, Justice Pugalendhi observed that the appointment of committee did not preclude the IO from investigating the case. Since the accused persons had obtained bail and anticipatory bail by undertaking to co-operate with the committee and later failed to do so, the judge advised the IO to move necessary applications to cancel their bail. Further noting that the case has been pending since 2017, the judge directed the IO to expedite the probe and file final report, preferably within six months.
