Punjab Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Highlights: RCB storm into the final with a thumping eight-wicket win

Royal Challengers Bengaluru stormed into the final of IPL 2025 with a thumping eight-wicket win over Punjab Kings in the Qualifier 1 at Mullanpur on Thursday. ADVERTISEMENT Chasing just 102 runs to win, RCB got off to a flyer and were at 30/0 in 3 overs. However, Kyle Jamieson bowled an outstanding over, removing Virat Kohli and beating the edge of Mayank Agarwal thrice in the wicket maiden. Phil Salt counter-attacked and finished the match in a hurry with an unbeaten 56 runs off just 27 balls, including six fours and three sixes. Captain Rajat Patidar finished the formalities with a massive six. For PBKS, Jamieson and Musheer Khan took two wickets each as RCB finished the chase in just 10 overs. It was the biggest win in playoffs in terms of balls remaining. Earlier, PBKS were shot out for just 101 runs after being put into bat first. It was a no show with the bat as they started losing wickets in the second over when Priyansh Arya gave a simple catch off Yash Dayal's bowling. The team lost three more wickets inside the powerplay and were reduced to 50/5 in the seventh over. The wickets kept falling as Josh Hazlewood, who came back after missing four matches, picked up three wickets. Spiner Suyash Sharma, who had been expensive in the last two matches also picked up three wickets, while Yash Dayal ended with two wickets to his name. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Roamario Shephard also got a wicket each. For PBKS, Marcus Stoinis top scored with 26 runs off 17 balls, including two fours and as many sixes. Azmatullah Omarzai and Prabhsimran Singh got 18 runs each. None of the other batters could manage to reach double figures. This was the joint third-lowest total in an IPL Playoff match. RCB will play the final on June 3, while PBKS will play the Qualifier 2 against the winner of Eliminator that will be played between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.
