2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL Is A 750-HP, 19-Foot-Long American Luxury EV Beast

The Cadillac Escalade has come in two length choices since the second-generation car went on sale back in 2002. There's been a standard-length Escalade based on the Chevy Tahoe, and a longer Escalade ESV based on the Suburban. For 2025 Cadillac electrified the 'Lade with its Ultium platform, creating the Escalade IQ. The electric Escalade is on sale now, but it only comes in one length. That's a real letdown for Big Escalade Enjoyers, but I've got good news: Cadillac has unveiled the longer Escalade IQL, meant to be the EV standard bearer of the biggest Cadillac you can buy. Let's talk over some numbers first, because they're as big as the Escalade IQL all by themselves. The IQL comes in at 228.5 inches overall, which is 4.1 inches longer than the standard Escalade IQ. That also makes it an inch and a half longer than the gas-powered Escalade ESV. Wheelbase (136.2 inches), height (76.1 inches) and width with mirrors (94.1 inches) all remain the same. That might not sound like a huge difference, but Cadillac reworked the rear of the Escalade IQL to give it a more upright look, meaning there's more room inside for second- and third-row passengers and all of their stuff. Read more: These Are The Dumbest Looking Cars Of All Time, According To You The third row especially sees a huge improvement with legroom increasing by 4.4 inches to 36.7 inches and headroom gaining another inch to 38.2 inches. That will make a big difference for passenger comfort. The C- and D-pillars are redesigned and the rearmost side windows are larger, which should give third-row passengers a better view out as well. As with every Escalade — especially the extended versions — there's a ton of cargo space. Cadillac says that behind the third row, there is still 24.2 cubic feet of cargo volume (a 0.6-cubic-foot improvement over the standard car). Behind the second row, you'll find 75.4 cubic feet of cargo space (a 6.3 cubic foot gain), and with all the rear seats folded there's a gargantuan 125.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the front seats (a 6.1 cubic foot improvement). Plus, as with the normal-length Escalade IQ there's a 12.2-cubic-foot frunk where the engine should be. If you've got a lot of stuff to carry, the Escalade IQL might be your answer. The Escalade IQL will be able to tow up to 7,500 pounds, 500 pounds fewer than the normal IQ, and Cadillac says it has a 460-mile range thanks to its 205-kWh battery pack, the same as the standard model. Charge times are also identical to the standard Escalade IQ and other GM products this shares a platform with, like the GMC Sierra EV and Chevy Silverado EV. Cadillac says the IQL will be able to add up to 116 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging if you're using a 350-kW DC fast charger. Because this truck's battery is so gargantuan, don't expect 10-80 percent charge times to be anything to write home about, though. The interior of the Escalade IQL is pretty much identical to the regular Escalade IQ as well. That means you get a massive 55-inch array of screens up front and plenty of leather, wood and metal to make you feel really good about the car's $132,695 (including destination) price tag. All in all, it seems like a very nice place to be if you're not too intimidated by screens and technology. I'll know more once I get my hands on an Escalade IQ in about a week. If you're buying an Escalade IQL it's probably because you care about rear-seat accommodations. That's where Cadillac's Executive Second Row package comes into play. It's available on the standard-length Escalade IQ as well, but now there's even more space to work with. The package gets you two stowable tray tables, dual 12.6-inch seatback-mounted screens, a rear command center and two wireless charging pads. The seats themselves are also vastly improved with this package, becoming 14-way power heated and ventilated seats that can give you a massage while playing music out of your own headrest speakers. From what I can tell, Cadillac just took the first row's seats and threw them in the second. It's not a bad idea if you plan on being driven around a lot in your Escalade IQL. The package also takes the Escalade IQL's standard 21-speaker AKG audio system and doubles it to 42 total speakers. There's also a 38-speaker setup you can go for. Other goodies the Escalade IQL buyer can expect are seating for up to seven (no second-row bench here) with a power-folding third row, 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability with OnStar, bi-directional vehicle-to-vehicle or vehicle-to-home charging and, of course, standard Super Cruise driver-assistance tech on all trims for three years. You'll have to pay for it after that, but you won't own this car by then, so don't worry. The Escalade IQL isn't really breaking the mold here, but the Escalade ESV never really has either. It's just giving buyers another option if they're in need of more space out back. With more and more black car services and executives opting for SUVs — and electric ones at that — building an extended Escalade IQ is certainly the smart decision. Cadillac says production will start in the middle of this year Want more like this? Join the Jalopnik newsletter to get the latest auto news sent straight to your inbox... The Long-Wheelbase Cadillac Escalade IQL Is the Escalade ESV of EVs

The 2026 is an even longer version of the already huge Escalade IQ and the equivalent of the gas-powered . The IQL features an extra 4.4 inches of third-row legroom and an extra six cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. The Escalade IQL also wears a more upright rear end with a unique C-pillar design, and the electric SUV will start at $132,695. We first learned Cadillac was working on an Escalade IQL at last year's Chicago auto show, a logical move since the gas-powered Escalade SUV already comes with a long-wheelbase Escalade ESV variant. Now we have full details on the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL, which is, as expected, a more capacious version of the already ginormous electric full-size luxury SUV. The Escalade IQL looks nearly identical to its slightly smaller—but certainly not small—sibling, measuring 4.2 inches longer from nose to tail. The IQL wears unique bodywork at the rear, however, with a more upright triangular C-pillar decorated by the downward-swooping window trim. The D-pillar is also more vertical, and there is a full window between the two rear-most pillars, instead of the thick panel that hampers visibility at the rear of the standard IQ. Inside, the longer body means that the third row gains an extra 4.4 inches of legroom, one inch of additional headroom, and almost another full inch of shoulder room. There is also marginally more headroom and legroom for second-row occupants. The IQL can seat up to seven passengers and features a power-folding third row that can lie completely flat. Cargo volume has also improved, with the 75 cubic feet available with the third row stowed up by six cubes over the standard Escalade IQ. With the third row up, cargo capacity is only up by about one cubic foot. Of course, Escalade IQL customers also have access to the 12 cubes of storage space in the frunk. The rest of the cabin mirrors the smaller Escalade IQ, with a majestic 55-inch display that spans the entire dashboard. There's a standard 21-speaker AKG sound system, but if that's not enough for you, there's an optional 38-speaker version. And for those who can never have too many speakers, the Executive Second Row package brings a whopping 42 speakers. That package, which is also available on the IQ, includes 12.6-inch screens for each second-row passenger, dual wireless phone-charging pads, and stowable tray tables. The package also equips the 14-way power-adjustable rear seats with heat, ventilation, and massage functions, as well as headrest speakers. The powertrain is unchanged from the standard Escalade IQ, producing an absurd 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque from a pair of electric motors, allowing the electric behemoth to blast from zero to 60 mph in a claimed 4.7 seconds. The IQL uses the same 205.0-kWh battery as the IQ, and Cadillac estimates the same 460-mile range despite the added length. Cadillac also claims the IQL can add 116 miles of range in 10 minutes when connected to a DC fast-charger. At 7500 pounds, the IQL's towing capacity is 500 pounds less than the standard Escalade IQ. Super Cruise, GM's hands-free driver-assistance system, comes standard on all trims. The IQL is also capable of bi-directional charging, and when equipped with the GM Energy V2H Bundle, the EV SUV can send power back to a person's home when needed. Cadillac says production of the Escalade IQL will begin in the middle of this year. Four trims will be offered: Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, and Premium Sport. Pricing will start at $132,695, about $3K more than the smaller Escalade IQ. It will be built at the same Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly—also known as Factory Zero—where the standard Escalade IQ is put together. The New Cadillac Escalade IQL Is 19 Solid Feet of Electric SUV Beast

With the all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ first reaching customers at the end of 2024, it was only a matter of time before the automaker rolled out The Big One. As with the gasoline-powered Escalade lineup, the all-new 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL provides even more third-row space, cargo capacity, and straight-up road presence. Here's everything you need to know about GM's latest electric SUV. The 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL is based on the same BT1 Platform that underpins the Hummer EV, as well as GM's more "normal" electric trucks like the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV. At the heart of this model sits a 24-module battery pack rated at 205 kWh, up from 200 in the standard IQ. That pack works with a motor drive unit at each axle to provide all-wheel-drive, with output ratings of 680 hp and 615 lb-ft. Those figures can briefly jump to 750 hp and 785 lb-ft in the truck's Velocity Max mode, which allows for an estimated 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds. The IQL features the same 136.2-inch wheelbase as the standard electric Escalade, but it's just over four inches longer overall, at 228.5 inches. That's approaching heavy duty pickup levels of size. Like every Escalade IQ, the long-wheelbase model features a four-wheel independent suspension setup bolstered by Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and Air Ride Adaptive hardware. (Given that the truck rides on 24-inch wheels with 35-inch rubber, that sort of tech is welcome in the name of ride comfort.) The truck also supports DC fast charging speeds that can add up to 116 miles of range in 10 minutes. On a more typical Level 2 unit, the truck can add as much as 36 miles of range per hour. Cadillac says the truck should provide customers with around 450 miles of range on a full charge. Inside the truck you'll find a largely familiar space. The brand's 55-inch diagonal display dominates the experience, though third-row passengers will see a notable change in IQL: that added length allowed GM to reposition the rear seats, giving passengers four extra inches of legroom and an additional inch of headroom. Storage capacity is also quite stout, with 24.2 cubic feet behind the third row alone. Fold the rear row and that capacity jumps up to 75.6 cubic feet, which should more than handle most sports weekends. If you don't plan on carrying third-row occupants, the Executive Second Row package turns the truck into more of a rolling jet than a family car. The added luxury of space does come at a cost, however. The Cadillac Escalade IQL Sport will start at $132,695 including destination. That's up from $129,900 for the 'regular' IQ. Expect pricing for the Sport, Premium Luxury, and Premium Sport to follow a similar strategy. Order books should open before too much longer, as GM says it plans to start production at Detroit's Factory Zero in mid-2025. Read the full story Cadillac has revealed the 2026 Escalade IQL, an even bigger version of the electric Escalade IQ. The longer-wheelbase model has more storage space and more legroom with the same bold exterior styling and high-tech cabin. The Escalade IQL looks identical to the IQ from the front, with the same imposing face and intricate LED lighting. Behind the rear doors, the IQL gains a unique C-pillar with a triangular shape and a full window in place of the view-blocking panel found on the IQ. The IQL measures 4.2 inches longer overall but rides on the same wheelbase as the IQ. The IQL has an extra 4.4 inches of legroom, one inch more headroom, and nearly a full inch of additional third-row shoulder room. With the third row stowed, cargo space is significantly improved, up by about six cubic feet (75 cubes total). The cabin is otherwise identical, sharing its 55-inch dash-spanning display and rich materials with the standard Escalade IQ. The powertrain is also unchanged, so the pair of electric motors continue to churn out a whopping 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. The 205.0-kWh battery is also shared with the IQ, with Cadillac estimating an identical 460-mile range despite the lenghtier bodywork. The Escalade IQL has a towing capacity of 7500 pounds, 500 pounds less than the standard Escalade IQ. Every 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL comes standard with Super Cruise, GM's hands-free (eyes-on) driver-assist system. Prices for the Escalade IQL start at $132,695 and production will begin in the middle of 2025.
