The video of water leak inside a Delhi-bound Vande Bharat Express was shared widely.
In a surprising and frustrating experience, a journey on the Delhi-bound Vande Bharat Express turned into a nightmare for passengers after water started leaking from the train's roof. The leak drenched not only the seats but also the passengers' belongings. The situation was caught on camera by a traveller, and the video has now gone viral on social media.
Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), the passenger wrote, 'AC not working and water leakage in #VandeBharat train. Extremely uncomfortable journey despite the premium fare. Posted on June 23, the video received more than 5,000 views and attracted numerous comments from viewers. The incident has sparked concern among the public regarding the train's upkeep.
Many slammed the poor maintenance and called out the inconvenience caused. The passenger, who was clearly upset, also demanded a full refund, saying the staff behaved irresponsibly throughout the journey.
Another video of the incident has surfaced, showing the leak from a different angle.
As the video started getting attention, the Railways responded through its official handle, Railway Seva, saying the authorities had already taken action. They explained the water leak happened because the AC drain holes got blocked by the return air filter.
As a result, water collected inside the system, and when the train braked, the water flowed into the air duct and leaked into the passenger area.

'A case of water leakage was reported from the return air duct in coach C-7 (seat no. 76) on Train No. 22415 (Varanasi–New Delhi Vande Bharat Express). Root Cause: Condensate water accumulated under the cooling coil of the RMPU due to drain holes of drip tray blocked by Mix media/ Return air filter," the Railway Seva posted on X.
'The water, during braking, entered the return air duct, causing water to drip into the passenger area," the post also added.
