Indiana football to play multiple Friday night games in 2025, other schedule details
BLOOMINGTON — Conferences announced kickoff times and network designations for the first three weeks of the 2025 college football season, along with a handful of other dates, on Thursday.
Indiana football will open the season on Aug. 30 against Old Dominion at Memorial Stadium with an afternoon kick (2:30 p.m.) on FS1. The network will also carry the Hoosiers' Week 2 matchup against Kennesaw State on Sept. 6 at noon.

The biggest IU-related news from the scheduling reveal is that the program will play multiple Friday night games in 2025, including the 127th Old Oaken Bucket game. The Hoosiers are scheduled to play Purdue on Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
It's only the second time in the history of the rivalry the teams will face off on a Friday night. Indiana lost its first-ever Friday night game to the Boilermakers, 51–14, on Friday, Nov. 24, 1995.
Indiana has played a Friday night game each of the last three seasons. Last year, the Hoosiers beat Western Illinois 77-3 on a Friday night game in Week 2. They are 4-2 on Friday nights and 10-3-1 in non-Saturday games.
While former IU football coach Tom Allen was a vocal opponent of Friday night games, his successor Curt Cignetti doesn't share the same concerns.

"I've played Thursday, I've played Friday, I've played Saturday," Cignettti said last season. "We just get ready to play them when we're asked to play them."
