Masked thugs crashed into car whilst fleeing incident in Alexandria
Police say two men, both wearing dark coloured clothing with their faces covered, were seen in the garden of a property in the Upper Bridge Street area of Alexandria. The intended theft incident is said to have taken place between 3pm and 3.30pm on Thursday, May 29. Police say the men fled the scene when disturbed and got into a parked grey BMW 3 Series car. The BMW then collided with their car before fleeing the area. The car was driven erratically through Renton and Alexandria, particularly on Main Street and Queen Street. READ NEXT: Boy found seriously hurt after being stabbed in Glasgow Detective Constable Iain McGill said: 'I would ask anyone who may have seen this car in the Alexandria area, potentially driving erratically between Renton and Balloch yesterday afternoon (Thursday, May 29), or with damage, to report this to us. 'Similarly, I would ask anyone with dashcam systems to check their footage and provide anything of relevance to us as soon as possible.' Anyone with information is urged to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 2218 of May 29, 2025. Hunt for masked men seen driving 'erratically' after attempted theft
A hunt has been launched for two masked men who fled the scene of an attempted theft in West Dunbartonshire. Two men were seen in the garden of a property in the Upper Bridge Street area of Alexandria between 3pm and 3.30pm on Thursday. Both men were wearing dark clothing. When disturbed, they entered a parked grey BMW 3 Series car to flee the scene. A member of the public approached the suspect's car and was threatened before the BMW collided with their vehicle, and they fled the scene. Officers said the BMW has since been driven erratically through the local area, particularly on Main Street and Queen Street. Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward. Detective constable Iain McGill said: 'I would ask anyone who may have seen this car in the Alexandria area, potentially driving erratically between Renton and Balloch on May 29, or with damage, to report this to us. 'Similarly, I would ask anyone with dashcam systems to check their footage and provide anything of relevance to us as soon as possible.
