Tourist riding horse in Luxor - file CAIRO - 12 May 2025: Tourists from around Europe enjoy a joyful atmosphere on horseback rides among the ancient monuments and Pharaonic tombs in western Luxor Governorate. Despite the gradual rise in daily temperatures these days, Luxor governorate is experiencing a boom in tourism, with groups flocking from around the world to enjoy the magic of ancient Egyptian civilization and the cheerful atmosphere of Luxor. In this regard, tourism sector workers are working to diversify tourism services for groups to attract more tourists and open up new tourist markets. Recently, a unique product has been developed, inviting more tourists to enjoy a "mountain safari" at dawn, during the launch of hot air balloons that light up the sky. Tayeb Abdullah Hassan, a tour guide, says that Luxor offers many unique tourism experiences that tourists may not encounter in other destinations. These include hot air balloons, which operate approximately 11,000 trips annually, horse-drawn carriage rides, sailboat trips in the middle of the immortal Nile, and tourists strolling through cafes and heritage markets. The tour guide, Ibn Gharb Luxor, told Egypt Today that the horseback rides organized by horse stables in the West Bank attract tourists daily, offering a unique tourism style designed to delight tourists in the West Bank. He explained that horseback rides have recently transformed into a special kind of safari, with large groups reserving a special number of horses to help them venture out in large numbers to the streets, parks, and banks of the Nile to enjoy the special evening hours, the harsh sun, and the high temperatures. He explained that on the agricultural roads and among the desert mountains, groups of foreigners ride horses, donkeys, and camels, and they are very happy to be doing so, enjoying the magic of civilization on the beasts of Upper Egypt. Tayeb Abdullah confirms that these horseback rides happen early in the morning to enjoy the Valley of the Kings mountain range, which looms large on the horizon and glows red in the background. The sunrise is visible at dawn as the hot air balloon rides take off. Horseback safaris depart along side trails near the hot air balloon airport, allowing tourists to enjoy souvenir photos on horseback as the hot air balloon rides take off.
