Al-Fashir: Altaghyeer
Dozens of civilians were killed as a result of attacks by Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against ten villages east of al-Fashir, capital of North Darfur State, during the past few days, the government there announced.
The attacks have resulted in death of 18 and injury of some 25 people including women and children, said Director General of the Health Service in the State.
Ibrahim Khatir told al-Jazeera net that most of the injuries are fatal due to heavy shelling of populated areas.
Meanwhile, the RSF continued on Tuesday shelling of Zamzam Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp, south of al-Fashir, threatening exasperation of the humanitarian situation in the camp, which hosts thousands of families.
For months, al-Fashir has been witnessing escalating RSF military operations in a bid to take over the only state in Darfur's five, still under the Sudanese Armed Forces control.
