American Tungsten Corp. Commences Mine Site Preparation and Exploration Work

Vancouver, BC, May 27, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- American Tungsten Corp. (CSE:TUNG) (OTCQB:DEMRF) (FSE:RK9) ('American Tungsten' or the 'Company') is pleased to announce that the Company has commenced construction and building work to support exploration and mine planning at its Idaho-based tungsten project, the Ima Mine. The rehabilitation and exploratory review work will enable definition drilling and bulk sampling to aid in the Company's formation of its mine plan. The Ima Mine is a past producing underground tungsten mine situated on 22 patented claims located in East Central Idaho. Between 1945 and 1957, the property produced approximately 199,449 MTUs of WO3 and was subsequently explored for molybdenum and tungsten by various operators between 1960-2008(1). 'With warmer summer months approaching, the team is excited to have come back from a successful site visit that paves the way to rehabilitation, environmental sampling and stakeholder relations in order to begin plans to bring Ima back to production,' said Ali Haji, CEO. 'Review and compilation of the historical drilling, sampling and metallurgical testing completed by historical operators has identified multiple drill targets across the property and demonstrated viability of gravity separation of tungsten and sulfide flotation processes.' said Austin Zinsser, V.P. Exploration. 'Last week we developed a plan to initiate work where the prior operator left off, with delineation drilling and continued flowsheet development for the vein system on the upper level.' American Tungsten has contracted rehabilitation of certain sections of the property's road, is initiating collection of baseline environmental data and is conducting a thorough review on the property's infrastructure, and continues digitization of historical exploration information and modeling. School levies pass with strong margins in North Idaho

May 21—Voters approved levies for five North Idaho school districts Tuesday, reversing a trend for some districts that have struggled to pass funding measures in recent years. In Kootenai County, the Post Falls School District passed a $6 million levy with 62% in favor , Lakeland Joint School District passed a $7.5 million levy with 67% in support, and Plummer-Worley Joint School District passed a $900,000 levy with 59%. Notably, the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee did not make endorsements for or against the levies as it has in the past. The Lakeland levy almost didn't make it onto the ballot until a sick school board member called in to a January meeting to break a tie vote. A $9.52 million levy had failed in November. The Boundary County School District passed a $2.4 million levy with 69% of the vote after another proposal failed in November. A well-organized information campaign and higher turnout helped turn things around, the Bonners Ferry Herald reported. Voters in the West Bonner School District in Priest River passed a slimmed down levy with 54.5% in favor after two years of failed attempts plunged the district into financial trouble. Voters approved the $2.35 million per-year levy for two years after rejecting a one-year $4.6 million levy last May and a $1.13 million levy in November. The district closed the junior high this school year, and private donations funded sports and extracurricular activities amid the budget cuts. West Bonner Superintendent Kim Spacek said the junior high will remain combined with the senior high school, and the levy will cover $614,000 for sports and extracurriculars. "I think most importantly this is a win for the kids and the community," Spacek said. "We faced some criticism in the last few years, but we are listening." Spacek, who was hired last summer, said he organized listening sessions in the community to answer questions and build trust. He said the school district has proposed a home learning network as an alternative option for parents, who would control the curriculum. The district plans to partner with Idaho-based distance teaching company Overture Learning and would provide support as needed with two teachers. "We are going to start slow," Spacek said. "We want to build a quality program." If the levy had not passed, the district would have had to close two of the three elementary schools and cut staff, Spacek said. Here's How Much a $1000 Investment in Micron Made 10 Years Ago Would Be Worth Today

For most investors, how much a stock's price changes over time is important. This factor can impact your investment portfolio as well as help you compare investment results across sectors and industries. Another factor that can influence investors is FOMO, or the fear of missing out, especially with tech giants and popular consumer-facing stocks. What if you'd invested in Micron (MU) ten years ago? It may not have been easy to hold on to MU for all that time, but if you did, how much would your investment be worth today? With that in mind, let's take a look at Micron's main business drivers. Idaho-based Micron Technology has established itself as one of the leading worldwide providers of semiconductor memory global brands, namely Micron, Crucial and Ballistix, Micron manufactures and markets high-performance memory and storage technologies including Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM), NAND flash memory, NOR Flash, 3D XPoint memory and other technologies. Its solutions are used in leading-edge computing, consumer, networking and mobile products.A major portion of the revenues is derived from DRAM sales. The company's mission is to be the most efficient and innovative global provider of semiconductor memory reported revenues of $25.1 billion in fiscal 2024. The company has four reportable segments:Compute and Networking Business Unit (CNBU): The unit comprises of DRAM and NOR Flash products that are sold to the computer, networking, graphics, and cloud server markets, and NAND Flash products which are sold into the networking market. CNBU delivered revenues of $9.51 billion (38% of total revenues) in fiscal Business Unit (MBU): The unit comprises Micron's discrete DRAM, discrete NAND and managed NAND (including eMMC and universal flash storage (UFS) solutions) products that are sold to smartphone and other mobile-device markets. MBU generated revenues of $6.35 billion (25%) in fiscal Business Unit (SBU): The unit accounts for solid state drives (SSDs) and component-level solutions sold into enterprise and cloud, client and consumer storage markets as well as other discrete storage products sold in component and wafer forms to the removable storage markets. SBU's revenues grossed $4.59 billion (18%) in fiscal Business Unit (EBU): The unit includes Micron's discrete DRAM, discrete NAND, managed NAND and NOR products, which are sold to the automotive, industrial and consumer markets. EBU's revenues logged $4.61 billion (19%) in fiscal company struggles with intense competition from Intel, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Toshiba Memory and Western Digital Corporation. Anyone can invest, but building a successful investment portfolio takes a combination of a few things: research, patience, and a little bit of risk. So, if you had invested in Micron a decade ago, you're probably feeling pretty good about your investment today. According to our calculations, a $1000 investment made in May 2015 would be worth $3,689.36, or a 268.94% gain, as of May 21, 2025. Investors should keep in mind that this return excludes dividends but includes price appreciation. In comparison, the S&P 500 gained 179.44% and the price of gold went up 162.41% over the same time frame. Analysts are anticipating more upside for MU. Micron's latest quarterly performance underscores its strategic positioning in the rapidly expanding AI-driven memory and storage markets. The positive impact of inventory improvement across multiple end markets is adding to the top-line growth. Surging demand for HBM and robust DRAM pricing recovery will aid significant revenue and earnings growth in coming quarters. Its solid financials, positive free cash flow, and strong balance sheet provide the flexibility to invest in growth initiatives while enhancing shareholder value. Its long-term customer agreements and expanding AI partnerships reduce volatility and enhance revenue visibility. Nonetheless, weakness in NAND pricing due to oversupply conditions and slower-than-expected demand recovery might hurt overall financial performance. An escalating trade war is another concern. The stock has jumped 39.72% over the past four weeks. Additionally, no earnings estimate has gone lower in the past two months, compared to 2 higher, for fiscal 2025; the consensus estimate has moved up as well. How lumber duties could worsen home affordability in the U.S.

Volatile lumber prices are once again rattling the U.S. housing market, squeezing builders and threatening to exacerbate an already dire affordability crisis. Softwood lumber prices in April surged 23% year-over-year, while futures rose sharply in early 2025 amid fears of increased U.S. duties and widespread sawmill closures across North America, according to the National Association of Home Builders. This has weighed heavily on major homebuilders such as Lennar, D.R. Horton and Toll Brothers, which have all seen their stocks slump this spring. Though lumber avoided inclusion in the latest round of tariffs, the Trump administration has signaled growing interest in tightening trade restrictions. In March, the White House issued an executive order directing the Commerce Department to investigate the national security implications of lumber imports and boost domestic production. The U.S. currently imposes a 14.5% duty on Canadian lumber, and Canada accounts for about 85% of all U.S. softwood lumber imports, representing almost a quarter of U.S. supply, according to NAHB. That tariff rate could jump to 34.5% later this year following a regulatory review by the Department of Commerce, further disrupting a sector already reeling from material costs and labor shortages. "The unpredictability of lumber prices adds serious complexity to planning and budgeting," said Steve Martinez, president of Idaho-based Tradewinds General Contracting. His business builds high-end multifamily homes, where wood frames are critical, accounting for up to 18% of construction costs, according to HomeGuide. Beyond homebuilding, higher lumber costs are hitting renovations, fencing and interiors. The United States Forest Products annual market review and prospects found that U.S. lumber production inched up to 64 million cubic meters in 2023, up nearly 1% from the year prior. But demand continues to outpace supply. Environmental regulations, aging forests and labor constraints compound the challenge. Nearly 100 million U.S. households can't afford a median-priced home, which now averages $460,000, according to NAHB. As affordability worsens, experts warn that higher tariffs and ongoing supply instability could stall new development for years. The Department of Commerce is expected to reach a final decision on Canadian lumber duties by August. Watch the video to find out more about the trade tension between the U.S. and Canada and what's behind the rise in lumber prices.

Bryan Kohberger case leak could lead to excluded evidence, Idaho attorney warns

An Idaho-based lawyer said she thinks Judge Steven Hippler will "absolutely" hold prosecutors and law enforcement accountable after sensitive information about the Bryan Kohberger quadruple murder case was leaked. A TV episode about the murders of four University of Idaho students was aired on May 9 and featured new cellphone records, surveillance video, search records and more. Kohberger is accused of killing Xana Kernodle, 20, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, and Ethan Chapin, 20. New information about the murders was shared during the May 9 NBC "Dateline" program, which included surveillance video from a nearby house. The surveillance video showed a car similar to Kohberger's that was in the area of the King Road house several times just before the four students were killed. The program also claimed that FBI cellphone tower data showed that Kohberger's cellphone pinged nearly a dozen times to a tower that provides coverage to an area within 100 feet of 1122 King Road, where he allegedly killed the four students. Judge Says Gag Order 'Likely' Violated In Bryan Kohberger's Idaho Murder Case Edwina Elcox, a criminal defense attorney in Boise, Idaho, told Fox News Digital she thinks Hippler is taking the leak very seriously. Read On The Fox News App "I think prosecutors/law enforcement will absolutely be held accountable," Elcox said, noting she has worked on cases with Hippler as the judge. Elcox said she "absolutely" thinks it's possible for evidence presented during the TV episode to be excluded in court. Sign Up To Get The True Crime Newsletter "Can you imagine if the remedy for this was all that evidence being excluded?" Elcox said. "I ABSOLUTELY think that is in the realm of remedies." "Not only should it never have happened under any circumstances, there was the gag order," she added. Hippler said Thursday in an order that the court's gag order was "likely" violated by someone who, at one point, was associated with either law enforcement or the prosecution team. Judge Rules Death Penalty To Remain As Possible Punishment Amid Bryan Kohberger Autism Diagnosis Hippler ordered anyone who worked with either law enforcement or prosecutors on this case to retain all communications and data relating to the murder investigation. "Such violations not only undermine the rule of law, potentially by persons charged with upholding it, but also significantly impede the ability to seat an impartial jury and will likely substantially increase the cost to be borne by the taxpayers of Latah County to prosecute this case by extending the time it will take to seat a jury and potentially requiring lengthy period of juror sequestration," Hippler wrote. Hippler also said he's open to appointing a special prosecutor who'd investigate where the leak came from, but hasn't yet made a decision. He gave a seven-day deadline to prosecutors, who were ordered to submit a list, on camera, of all individuals within law enforcement and the prosecuting agencies that have access to the information shared during the episode. Idaho Statesman Investigative Reporter Kevin Fixler told Fox News' "America Reports" he was surprised when the "Dateline" episode aired. "I have been on this case since literally day one, and this was a surprise. A lot of this information that was released just two and a half months before trial. So we're trying to better understand where that came from," Fixler said. Follow The Fox True Crime Team On X Forensic expert and Jacksonville State University Professor Joseph Scott Morgan told Fox News Digital there's a risk that the TV episode on Kohberger will taint the jury pool. "I think the first place you have to look is the tainting of the pool, of the jury pool," Morgan said. "Progressively, it becomes more and more difficult because people form opinions, they put things out there that are not true, and you still have yet to pick a jury. And it's not like you're going to Manhattan. You're talking about Ada County, Idaho. You have a limited pool of potential jurors there." "They need to find out who's inside that investigative bubble that would release all of this digital data because you're talking about a copious amount, not just a new video that we're seeing that had never been seen before," Morgan added. GET REAL-TIME UPDATES DIRECTLY ON THE True Crime Hub Morgan said the leak might have the biggest impact if Kohberger decides to file an appeal, after a jury hands down a decision. "Afterwards, if in fact [Kohberger] is found guilty, his attorneys are going to have a field day with stuff like this," he said. Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Neama Rahmani told Fox News Digital he doesn't think the leak will have much of an impact on the case. "People should follow court orders, but this is more bluster than anything and I don't think much will come of it. This is what happens when you have a very broad gag order and it takes 3.5 years to finally get a murder case to trial. It's not realistic to expect evidence not being leaked to the media for years in the biggest murder trial in the country," Rahmani article source: Bryan Kohberger case leak could lead to excluded evidence, Idaho attorney warns
